Specialist Rating - Scout Mediaman

1.     ADULT LEADERS. Since we are promoting group support in our advancement, schools engaged in advancement will solicit assistance from other Adult Leader who has expertise on a certain merit badge required.

2.     EAGLE SCOUTS who are already professionals. We ask them to assist scouts on their advancement as Merit Badge counselors on certain expertise based on their professions.

 

3.     TRAINING TEAM MEMBERS. They usually serve as merit badge counselors based on their expertise on scouting skills

As for our system of counseling, we do one-on-one or group counseling using online or virtual platforms such as google meet and zoom.

On February 26 – 28, 2021, we conducted a Virtual Board of Review for Venturer Rank, for the last remnants of our scouts’ who started their advancement before the pandemic. They took their NBOR last May 7 – 9, 2021 all 139 of them.   

We will be having our First Virtual National Court of Honor for  Eagle Scouts who took our First Virtual National Board of Review last September 2020.

Virtual activities for KID Scouts Virtual Scouting Day - Ako ay Masayang KID Scouts 
 

Our brothers and sisters from the National Eagle Scouts Association of the Philippines Antonio Rios Torillo Chapter No. 9 and the Boy Scouts of the Philippines - Cavite Council, distributed face masks and bottles of antiseptic water based solution to workers, motorists, and front liners located at different checkpoints within the areas of Imus and Dasmariñas Cavite. 

b. Reconfiguration of merit badge counseling (to be implemented next year) in line to meet the demands of the new normal

a.       Scouts accomplish forms

b.       Forms are to be signed by personnel at the institutional level (unit leader, merit badge counselor) 

c.       Adult Leader submits forms to the council for processing 

d.       Other relative signatures are accomplished at the council level

e.       Signed forms are submitted from the Council to the Regional Office

a.       Forms are accomplished by the scouts with the assistance by the unit leader 

b.       Unit leaders finalized accomplished forms then submit copies to the Council office for processing (soft copies) 

c.       Council officers prepare forms before submitting them to the regional office.

a.       Scouting Activities are conducted to upskill scouts and advance students (Crew Leaders Training Course, Emergency Service Training Course, Survival Camp for Venturer Scouts, Coastal Clean up drive) 

b.       Board of reviews are regularly conducted (Board of Review for all ranks, Board of Review for Venturer and Final Board of Review for Eagle Scouts are conducted)

c.       Court of Honor was implemented during the first quarter of 2019 

a.       Advancing scouts have been a major challenge to the council, this is the reason why BOR was not conducted; however, when the National Office distributed the awards for Eagle Scout which is why a specialized court of honor was conducted virtually to give recognition to the Eagle scouts

b.       A similar recognition was implemented to give the parchment paper for Scout Leaders who attended the Advanced Training Course – two unit leaders where recognized 

· Revitalized the advancement among the boys by empowering the schools and scouting institutions to conduct scouting at home and prepare the documents for advancement to be processed by the council.
