Urbanization may bring up many concerns, but in fact, its pros outweigh the cons. First, urbanization enhances the productivity of a city. More population increases the number of labors in the city, and convenient transportation also boosts the industries when concentrated in the cluster. Secondly, lives in the cities are more eco-friendly than those in the rural area. Less energy is required to sustain electricity and heat in the houses. Well-developed public transportation is also more economical than private transportation. Last but not least, urbanization benefits the standard of living for individuals. More job opportunities and higher wages lead to more affordable housing. Not to mention better healthcare and education. In conclusion, we don’t have to be overly pessimistic about urbanization. On the contrary, we should join our hands together with people from all walks of life to make the most use of the advantages of cities and improve the deficits with technological advances.
