COMPARE/CONTRAST-  Both John cabot and Lewis and Clark were in search of a quicker or different route, Lewis and Clark were in search of a waterway from the US  to the pacific ocean, and John was trying to find a quicker route to India. They were both trying to get to a destination quicker or more than one way.

COMPARE/CONTRAST-  Lewis and clark were told by Thomas Jefferson to go explore the land west of the Mississippi. John cabot was told by King Henry VII to sail to canada and see what he could find. They were both told by Very important people to go explore for them.

The difference with Lewis and clark was there religion was known as Deist which was what most presidents were during Lewis and Clark’s time. Effects on the environment are things like deforestation and depletion of the nutrients in the soil and introducing foreign plants along with animal species. For example forests being burned cleared and logged away to make room for building.

Colonization had over all a negative impact on the indigenous people and the environment. For example how the indigenous people were treated like they were nothing and the land that was theres was just taken away.
