Today, I had a meeting with my supervisor, Jill Lim, the Infineon Finance Controlling Operation Manager. She provided a detailed explanation of our department's responsibilities. Our department focuses on controlling the company's operational costs. Each year, we are tasked with forecasting the next year's Target Cost Rooming (TCR) and ensuring that our forecast aligns with the CFO's target. At the end of each month, our team calculates the actual cost price and compares it with the TCR. If the actual cost price exceeds the TCR, we are responsible for identifying the root cause within the relevant operational department and implementing measures to control their costs.

Although the calculations for the OPs data have not been completed yet, I’ve already set up and established the file connections. Today, I met with the OP2 department to provide a briefing on TCR, LTCR, and the actual cost price for OP2. I also completed linking all the TCR files to my latest template. Following that, I proceeded to consolidate and link the total actual cost price for March by combining the data from OP1, OP2, and OP3.

Meeting with my manager and she explained to me that the finance controlling department has three periods, which are monthly closing, quarterly forecast and yearly TCR. The table below is the quarterly forecast table, meaning that each quarter we need to calculate the actual price for the past month and forecast the remaining month until September because we forecast for the whole one year.

Manager assigned me a task to use Excel’s VLOOKUP function to identify the owners of cost centers with the codes PA, CM, DS, OP1, OP3, and PSMS. However, since the cost centers for PSMS, DS, and OP1 are still uncertain, my manager asked me to reach out to Lai Sau Fong (for OP1) and Serene Ong (for OP2) to confirm the correct cost centers. Once confirmed, I used the VLOOKUP and MID functions to determine the owners for all the cost centers.

After adjusted, I proceeded to link all the June closing files for the respective OPs that had already been set up and consolidated them into the MAL June closing files.
