​Students have 45 minutes to complete an On Demand Narrative Prompt. 

Narratives Level 1 includes: The writer told about when he or she did something.  The writer tried to make a beginning for her story.  The writer put her story in order.  She used words such as and, then, and so.  The writer found a way to end her story.  The writer wrote her story across three or more pages.

Narrative Level 2 includes: The writer wrote about one time when he or she did something.  The writer thought about how to make a good beginning and chose a way to start her story.  She chose the action, talk or setting that would make a good beginning.  The writer chose the action, talk, or feeling that would make a good ending.  The writer wrote a lot of lines on a page and wrote across a lot of pages.

Narrative Level 3 includes all of narrative 2 and the writer told the story in order using transition words such as, when, then, and after

To score a 3 in Narrative level 1 the all of the following would be needed:

the writer wrote about when he/she did something

the writer tried to make a beginning for their story, and middle

the writer put pages in order. She uses words such as, then, and so

the writer found a way to end their story

the writer wrote their story across two or more pages

To score a 3 in Narrative 2 

the writer wrote about one time they did something

the writer thought about how to write a good beginning and chose a way to start their story with action, talk, or setting

the writer chose the action, talk, or feeling that would make a good ending

the writer wrote a lot of lines on a page and wrote across a lot of pages.

To score a 3 in Narrative 3 

they would also need to tell the story in order by using words such as when, then, and after.
