different sociologist would say that different genders do better at school. feminist would deflinteley agree that women are doing better at school but also can sometimes get less attention than there male peers as boys are seen to go into better jobs than women. marxists would say that both genders are equally able to do well in there education. functionalists would say that boys do better in education and that there is no point of girls going to school as there aspirations should be good at housework and child care making girls only good at subjects like food tech and childcare.the facts show that girls get better GCSE results than boys, in my opinoun this is because girls are more likely to sit and do there homework and revise with friends whereas boys prefer to go out to impress friends and dont revise as it would get in the way of socialising with friends.also girls are always put down and told they can reach high but not too high due to the glass ceiling effect so therefore they will study harder to prove people wrong and show how intellegent they are so they can reach for higher paid jobs.
