I chose this video because its a very inspiring story about a girl travelling to Europe in a wheelchair. I think her message of determination and independence is something we all could all learn from. Her resilience and determination really resonates with me. Sometimes life gives us obstacles and it can be hard to keep going but this really puts our lives in perspective. It makes me feel grateful to live in a place that I'm free and safe.

This is a great and inspiring video!! It makes me very very grateful to be living in a country where I have rights and I do not need to worry about having to move countries or how to travel. It is amazing that this girl was able to go to Germany to get a better life and now she lives comfortably. When she said she was from Aleppo that made me realize how terrible her situation was, because Aleppo was the city in which the other terrible videos from strikes hit, and many got injured, so I'd glad this girl was able to be saved and can live in a quiet place. She is right though, the world needs to have more peace and love in it so that all can be saved.

It's funny after watching this video to think that many of us, including myself, are eager to leave our home and search for new experiences. Many of us feel that the sooner we can leave for college, the better. However, we forget about the wonderful qualities of home, because, unlike the girl in this video, we always will have one to go back to. I can't imagine never being able to see Boiling Springs again. As much as it is boring and backwards sometimes, it's really a nice place to live. And, while I may be excited to go on my next big journey to the real world, this video reminds me that you shouldn't take your home and all its fond memories for granted.

First of all, the courage and bravery of this girl is astonishing. Not only is she a refugee, but she also struggles with her disease. I am in awe of her. Thank you for sharing such a powerful story, Olivia. While watching her, I was struck by the ending of her speech, when she spoke about never being able to go back to the place she knows as her home. It really makes me value and appreciate my own situation and how truly fortunate we all are here.

I think this video was really good and different from the other ones we have seen before. It makes me realize how lucky I am to live in such a safe area. I think that everyone should get the same opportunities I do but unfortunately that is not the way the world works. I also like how even though she has a disease, she does not let It hold her back when it comes to everyday things. She made her own school when she couldn't go to a real one which makes me appreciate the education I can get.

We are all very fortunate to live in such a safe community. A lot of people complain about our community but we are very lucky to have a place called home. This was such a great video and she is so inspiring. She is very optimistic and that is a good quality to have. It is amazing that she was able to travel from Syria to Germany and a great idea to write about her experience. I want to read her book!

I really like this video and how it makes you take a step back and look at how people around the world are living. It makes you grateful to be able to leave your house, go to school, and feel safe where you are. These are really common things for us that we may usually take for granted. It's amazing that she was brave enough to talk about her journey, and it's really inspiring.

This was a really cool video. I liked that she was able to remain positive even though she only left her home like once a year. I don't know if I could do that. Another interesting this about this was her discussing that her sister and brother were focusing all of their time on learning a new language instead of getting the jobs they wanted or attending college. Coming to a new country is very difficult, and learning an entirely new language only exacerbates that difficulty. Many immigrants are faced with ridicule over accents and mistaken words, and people often think of them as less intelligent, when in reality, they are just as competent and maybe even more so.

I am glad that this girl has come this far. A lot of people may not have even been able to survive the journey that she made, let alone succeed after starting a new life. However, she did say that there were a few things about this new life that she did not like, such as her brother not having a job. Often times when refugees are brought up in debate, people tend to think more about the country and continually less about the refugees. It is somewhat sad, but it makes me all the more thankful to be in a safe position with plenty of opportunity.

This video is an eye opener to some of the conflicts that many people are facing today in Europe and the Middle East. I admire the strength of this young girl and her speech made me thankful for all of the freedoms I have. Pretty much every teenager complains about school and all the work we have to do, including myself, but this girl, after going through everything she did, loved having tests and homework and learning in general. All people should try their best to have a positive, optimistic outlook on everything they do because they are lucky to be be healthy and live in a safe environment.

I think that it's extremely easy to get caught up in the problems we face at home, and we often forget about the issues that others deal with in other parts of the world. This girl is extremely inspiring and is obviously very brave to be able to stand up there and tell her story and assert her stance on the problems her people face. We need to all strive to be like her and advocate for whatever cause we believe in. I too am very thankful to live in a country where I am secure and free to live how I want.

I think that it is great that she is getting the help and safety that her and her family needed. She does/has lived a very hard life regardless of the fact that she is just a year or two older than us. It is a great reminder to us that our lives are no where near as bad as we think.
