Soldiers lives were not considered to be glamorous and exciting. The idea of flying through the sky and defeating the enemy almost made them seem larger than life to people at home. Many stories and new articles focused on the pilots because this is what people wanted to hear about. It showed the exciting and good parts of the war.

In our opinion the pilots and soldiers were both heroes. But the pilots were recognized more since they were trying new technologies which made them seem more heroic and gave them that image. Since the pilots were individually recognized while the soldiers were only recognized as a group it made the pilots job seem more important. Individual soldiers were only recognized when they had a certain amount of kills. Which is unfair because they are all heroes since they they left their homes to fight in the war. People were so mesmerized by the huge risks they were taking risks for their countries, but were they really taking the risk for their country, or for the fame?

NADA & MARYAM

WE think that they are heroes but soldiers on the no-man's land should also be called heroes. Billy Bishop is still remembered because he had many kills so he does deserve to be called a hero. However, anyone who joined the army and left their homes should be considered as a hero. Maybe pilots have skills to fly a plane but soldiers have the courage to go to the battlefield so its unfair to only call the pilots the heroes.

yes because these pilots were risking there lives everyday for the country and thats pretty heroic. But at the same time they werent grinding as hard as the trench soldiers were. The pilots had there life kinda clean and easier. Also they cant be labeled as heros if they went out and died the first flight and wasted a plane. But then theres billy bishop who killed many people who is considered a hero to many. But there could be trench soldiers who have killed 100's and is getting no fame and have trench foot and sleeps on a rock. So i think the soldiers on the ground should be more heroic than those pilots who sit in there clean plane seat just wizzing around
