While you’re no longer a teacher, you still hold a high standing in my list of impactful adults in Parkdale. One of my favorite assignments in your class was getting to write the journal in those darn JQVs. Many hated it, but to me it was the equivalent to what I do when I journal in my actual journal. I always enjoyed grading other peoples JQVs because it was cool reading other peoples unique streams of consciousnesses. I still remember a few in detail too. Not only that, but as a human being your ability to relate to your students and make them feel safe is a quality that sets you apart from most adults. It only makes sense that you call your students your children. Most find that strange, but it only shows how much you care about others. You’re an amazing human being and I hope nothing but the best for you.

You had my brother in high school, so you know exactly who this is 😉. What I love about you as a teacher is how much you care about your students actually doing well. You could easily let a student fail but you work hard to ensure that every student has equal opportunity to thrive. Unfortunately, not all students take advantage of that and I know how frustrating it can be. You’re so strong despite everything you’ve been through and after having you for two years I can say that you’re one of the best people I know aside from teaching. I remember that day my brother came in to talk to you during school and I just listened, intrigued with the heart to heart conversation. Continue to be you, and keep on being nice to your neighbors with the apple sauce and milk (I think it was apple sauce) 🤣❤️.
