With most horror books, the reader trys to predict the ending like any other book. The writers know the psycology and nature of the human brain, so they toy with your brain, making it think it knows whats going on, but is wrong. There is a certian technique with horror books, when it encoreges the reader to try and predict the ending, but creates a different story different from your perdiction.
