Tracing the roots of disability is a great determinant in analyzing the interventions made towards total inclusion of people with disability in our society. The past may be unfortunate and disappointing, however, it became the cornerstone for policies, saturates the need for medical treatment, and became basis for educational reforms. Therefore, let the values of the past and the legal policies be the ground of our future teaching experiences!

Learning a totally new world about the history of disability surprised me. I couldn't imagine how hard it is for my fellowmen before. It is because I've witnessed how people with disabilities from the past suffered because of their condition. Knowing that our generation viewed and treated people with a disability much better than before is such a relief for them and us. They are all now receiving their deserved rights and privileges. They are also less discriminated and excluded by our society. It is all because of the policies and laws provided to protect and support them.
