Introduction:
How dose caterpillar'sturn into butterfly's. A butterfly is an insect that fly's

Stage 1: Egg
After they have grown enough and transformed if you look close enough you will see that the caterpillar is growing inside its egg.9 (inside a chrysalis) into butterflies, then the eggs no ,caterpillars are not sexually Matured. they are larval stage of the adult. Only the adult can reproduce and lay eggs.

stage 2:larva
when the egg hatches, the caterpillars will start his work and eat the leaf they were born onto.this is really important because the mother butterfly needs to lay her eggs on the type of leaf the caterpillar will eat on.

stage 3:chrysalis
One day the caterpillars stop eating hangs upside down from a twing or leaf, and spins itself if a silky cocoon or molts into a shiny chrysalis.within its protective casing the caterpillar radically transform its body.

stage 4:
Once the caterpillar hatches out of its cocoon they become a adult butterfly. when the butter fly comes out of its cocoon its wings are damp, which means that the butterfly will not be able to fly any more.

But over-all the the experiment cary's on over and over again. caterpillar's turn into butterfly's.

This topic describes how an egg turns into a caterpillar then transforms into an imago butterfly.
This process is also called the life cycle of a butterfly.

Stage 1: Eggs.
A butterfly always starts out as an egg. Female butterflies lay eggs. They lay their eggs on leaves and branches, the eggs are really small and round. A female butterfly can lay up to 500 eggs.

Stage 2: From egg to caterpillar/larva.
When the eggs are hatched the caterpillar has to eat and eat and eat so they can grow quickly for they are incredibly small. When they start eating they instantly start to expand. Their exoskeleton does not stretch or expand.

Stage 3: The transition/transforming stage.
When the larva has fully grown it stops eating and hangs upside down from a twig or leaf and then spins itself a silky cocoon or molts into a shiny chrysalis.

Stage 4: The imago butterfly.
Once the caterpillar is done transforming in its chrysalis it emerges out of its transition stage it will not be ready to fly just yet. After a period of time it will be able to fly and find a mate so it can create a family.

And so the cycle begins again-from egg to caterpillar to butterfly.

This procedure describes how an egg develops into a caterpillar, and, later, into a butterfly. This change is called the life cycle of a butterfly.

Firstly a female butterfly lays a large group of eggs. These eggs are laid on a leaf, close together and are small and round. The eggs hatch and a caterpillar crawls out a few days later.

Next the caterpillar (larva grows and matures through this stage. During this time, the caterpillar grows larger and sheds its skin. It sheds at least four times to enclose its growing body.

Once a caterpillar is fully grown, it becomes a chrysalis. The chrysalis is protected by a cocoon of silk. This phase can last for a very long time, weeks, months and sometimes even years depending on the species.

Soon the butterfly is formed. Once fully rested the butterfly is ready to spread it's wings and fly. Their wings are very large and colorful. A female butterfly lays eggs after about a week.

The cycle repeats again, from egg to caterpillar to butterfly.

Kyla
Do you know the four stages of a butterfly? well I do.

Stage 1:The egg
The butterfly life cycle starts as a small egg. Butterfly eggs are usually laid on the leaves of plants. The shape of the egg depends on the type of butterfly who laid the egg. If you examine the egg closely you will be able to see the caterpillar growing inside. Normally the eggs come in white, green or yellow colour.

Stage 2:The larva
After the egg has hatched the caterpillar is born. The most important job of the caterpillar is to eat and eat and eat. The caterpillar will eat the leaf it was born onto. This is really important because the mother butterfly needs to lay her eggs on the type of leaf the caterpillar will eat. When the caterpillar starts eating it will start growing and expanding.

Stage 3:The pupa
Once the caterpillar has grown to it's full length/weight it will form into a pupa also known as a chrysalis. This stage can last from a few weeks, a month or even longer. Depending on the species the pupa may be hanging under a branch or buried underground. On the outside of the pupa it will look like nothing is happening but on the inside the caterpillar is quickly changing. This transition is called 'metamorphosis'.

Stage 4:The butterfly
Finally when the caterpillar has done all it's forming the butterfly will emerge. After the butterfly has rested after coming out it will pump blood into the wings to get them working. Within three or four hours the butterfly will master flying. Next they would search for a mate to reproduce. After that the stages will start again.

That's the four stages also known as the life cycle of a butterfly.

The four stages of a butterfly!

Sitanaia

Have you ever heard of the life cycle of a butterfly? This topic describes the metamorphosis of a butterfly. Including the four stages: the egg stage, the feeding stage, the transition stage and lastly, the reproductive stage.

The egg stage
The cycle begins with a butterfly egg. The eggs are laid on a plant/leaf, the leaf is also food for the caterpillar once they are hatched. Depending on the species of the butterfly, the eggs are laid from spring, summer or fall. When the eggs are laid they come in big groups so not all of the eggs survive. The eggs size is normally very small.

The feeding stage
When the egg hatches the larva comes out, also known as the caterpillar. As I said before the caterpillar will then eat the leaf it was born on. The larva is born small, so more it eats the bigger it will grow. The larva's exoskeleton does not stretch so while they are growing they have to shed their skin multiple times while growing. In this stage all they do is eat.

The transition stage
When the caterpillar is fully grown and stops eating, it becomes a chrysalis. This stage is also known as the pupa or chrysalis stage. Depending on the kind of larva, the chrysalis will either be underneath a branch, hidden in leaves or buried underground. The larva can only stay in a chrysalis for a few weeks or a month. Depending on the species it is possible for it to stay in the chrysalis for 2 years!

The reproductive stage
After a few weeks the caterpillar will come out of the chrysalis as a butterfly. The butterfly must rest for a while after coming out of the cocoon, then will be able to pump it's blood into it's wings to get it working. Occasionally after three or four hours the butterfly would've mastered flying and will search for a partner to reproduce. Then after a while the butterfly will lay eggs on another leaf. After all, the butterfly life cycle will start again.

So overall, what I am saying is that the butterfly begins as a egg, then the egg hatches and becomes a caterpillar also known as a larva. After a short amount of time the larva creates a chrysalis and stays in there for a while, then lastly comes out as a butterfly and searches for a mate to reproduce.

To grow into an adult they go through 4 stages: egg, larva (known as Caterpillar), pupa and adult(known as Butterfly). Each stage has a different goal - for instance, caterpillars need to eat a lot, and adults need to reproduce.

The egg hatches and the larva comes out hungry, and will have to eat as much as it could. It will keep on growing until it reaches a certain size.
