THE WAR RESOLVED?

Recently, John Adams, Ben Franklin and John Jay created a negotiation between us colonists and the British. The document was called the "Treaty of Paris" It can finally end this ever so long Revolutionary war, that shouldn't have been necessary in the first place. All this talk of officially breaking away from our mother country started over a year ago, after our victory with the French in Yorktown.

The Treaty stated:

The U.S. was independent

-It's boundaries were the Mississippi river on the West, Canada on the North, and Spanish Florida on the South

-The U.S. would receive the right to fish off Canada’s Atlantic Coast, near Newfoundland and Nova Scotia

-The British would return any enslaved persons they had captured

-Congress would recommend that the state's return any property they had seized from Loyalists

-Each side would repay debts it owed the other

When Britain gets this document, they should finally realize that we are free independent states, and what they have done is not acceptable to rule colonies or any territories, and their reign is no more. PATRIOTISM! (The one I don't like is that the Treaty didn't say anything about impeaching King George iii, so I feel bad for all the British Citizens who have to live under his reign of terror.

I am very glad that the Treaty of Paris was signed. My parents came to America in the first place, to be free from the restrictions of Britain. But then the restriction followed us over to America! Being told where not to trade, where to live, and having us Americans being killed for no reason! It should have been issued sooner, but better late than never...

This whole "Treaty of Paris" thing makes me really mad. The colonies were OUR lands at first, they were OUR citizens at first, so it's only fair that we get whatever money they earn from the lands of America, since we helped them get those lands in the first place. The laws we initiated were for their protection which would benefit both of us! But then, they decide it's too much and say that we have no ownership over them. How selfish!
