I would like to try using concept cartoons with my own students to get them to reason and think more deeply.

In addition, the use of statement cards was a great way to stretch students’ thinking. It encouraged them to evaluate ideas critically and provide justification for their responses. However, I observed that students may need more exposure to this method in order to fully understand how to prove and support their thinking effectively.

Overall, I felt that the lesson was well thought out and catered to the profile of the students. It was not the typical teacher-centered instruction, but instead encouraged active participation, reasoning, and student engagement throughout the learning process.

However, one area that could benefit from refinement is the statement strategy used during the lesson. While the idea itself holds potential for promoting critical thinking, the instructions provided could be clearer which may have led to confusion among the students. Clearer, more structured guidance would help ensure that students fully understand the task and can respond confidently.

Overall, the lesson demonstrated innovative and interactive teaching techniques, and with slight adjustments to the clarity of instruction, it could be even more effective.
