Also, philosophies develop from our experiences and how we perceive interactions. Hence, the reason people relate to different philosophies.

How the four philosophies of eduction influenced education over time?

The four philosophies of education all played a big part over time. It gave teachers, students and others different ways to look at learning and try to meet the target of many. Perennialism and Essentialism (traditional philosophy) focus more on the subjects whereas Progressivism and Reconstructionism (contemporary philosophy) focus more on the learners (Ornstein & Hunkins, 2016). Contemporary philosophy focus in personal choice but traditional philosophy focus more on social goals. Contemporary philosophy curriculum focus on what is best for the students needs and personal interests because that how they learned but traditional philosophy curriculum is prescribed for the students.

The curriculum worker needs to be clear about their philosophy on education. A person’s philosophy is the source that develops the curriculum. A curriculum worker has a set of beliefs that helps them make curriculum decisions. A good curriculum worker can adapt when their views are challenged and cause them to question their original way of thinking. Like any teacher, the curriculum worker is passionate about their philosophy.

It is important that curriculum workers understand and can differentiate between the educational philosophies because a educator's role is different within each. The philosophies can influence the way a curriculum is written.

For educators it is important to know the difference between the educational philosophies because it can help him/her understand why a curriculum was written the way it was. Also, educators should understand a student's role within the curriculum so that he/she can help guide their students through their journey. (Ornstein & Hunkins, 2016)
