BRAINSTORM: WHAT I MISSED DURING LOCKDOWN

A huge difference between my life before and during lockdown was the freedom that I felt.
Just before the first lockdown, I had to leave my room in halls and go back home to my family. Although I felt safer, I really missed my independence and having my friends around me.
Something that I would frequently do with my friends was go to local and cheap gigs. Over lockdown, I found myself reminiscing over this a lot and looking back over videos I'd taken on nights out.

HOW WILL I PRESENT THIS?

I am wanting to highlight the difference between the mundane and repetitive feeling of being stuck inside during lockdown, with the unplanned and exciting aspect of life before lockdown.
I thought an effective way to do this would be to create juxtapositions between inside and outside through the use of colour and sound.
The inside transition will have a duller and more muted colour palette colour and softer sounds, however, my gig scene will be brighter and much louder. This will hopefully emanate the feeling of freedom and closeness which was arounf before corona.

We have decided to create a looping exquisite corpse animation. We plan to do this by including a transition between each of our which is almost the same: a person looking out a window.
The scene will then zoom into the window, wobble through and come out of the window onto a whole new scene of a memory from before lockdown.

I will be doing the transitions between each of our animations. We thought it would be a good idea for one person to do this motif in order to keep a consistent animation style and make it less jumpy.

My scene will go on from the window into a scene of a gig.
It will zoom onto two people talking etc. while live music is playing. I plan to then show the band playing and zoom out and back through the window.
Although this is a simple concept, I will be experimenting with colour, sound and movement in this to make it more complex.

TESTER OF THE TRANSITION SCENE

Here is a tester piece of animation to see how the transition scene would look like and if it would work. It therefore is a bit wobbly and messy as I did not use my tripod set up as it isn't the final version.
I am happy with this and think the zoom will work really well.
I am also planning on making the yellow cirlce on the right hand side into a clock. I am planning on making this clock go very quickly to represent the idea of time passing. When I look back to the first lockdown, I think of how time felt very different and began to stop feeling so relevant and important with each extension.
