Life before college

Before attending the University of Arkansas, I went to high school at Gravette. I unfortunately only go to play 2 years there as covid ended my freshman season and I was not allowed to play my sophomore year. I played baseball all my life and it is a huge passion I still have. At this point I knew I wasn't going to get to play baseball in college so I decided to stay close at home and attend Arkansas.

Changing my path

After attending the University of Arkansas, I began to grow and change. I met some of my best friends and started to really think about what would make me happiest in life. For my first 2 years I was a political science major and wanted to become a lawyer. But after not enjoying my classes and a lot of thought I decided to change my major. So in the middle of my Sophomore year I decided to switch to teaching that way I could do the 2 things I love. I love history and always have, and I love talking about it; becoming a teacher would allow me to teach and help shape young minds while allowing me to teach something I love. But, most importantly, it gave me the ability to return to one of the most important things in my life, baseball.

Looking toward the future

After changing my major I am so excited for my future. I have fallen in love with teaching, my main reason for switching was mainly to be around baseball again. However, after taking a few teaching classes, and taking observations at schools, I have found a new passion of mine. I am so excited to become a teacher and to get to help students grow and to become their best selves. I am so happy to have made that tough decision to become a teacher and have not looked back since.
