Reasons why:

- Power: The Libyan government thinks they’re more powerful than the migrants they have being auctioned for slavery. The Libyan government doesn’t have full control over their control ever since the recent fall of their leader and the influx of people coming from Nigeria. The UN is trying to decide if crimes against humanity charges can be brought against perpetrators.

A former Lawrence Police Officer was sentenced in federal court in Boston with attempting to use his position as a police officer to extort cocaine from a drug trafficker. The officer would seize the cocaine from a drug trafficker and threatened to arrest him if he didn’t continue to supply him with drugs. He did it so he would be able to gain profit from some of the drugs and he would do whatever he wanted with the rest since he had the choice to do so. 

Other examples: Politicians using power for their own benefit like pocketing tax money,  offering a job in exchange for sex, police taking bribes.

In Saudi Arabia Prince and officials tried to pay off their corruption by paying more than 1 billion dollars. The line between the public funds and the wealth of the royal family is unclear so corruption is considered to be widespread. The money that the royal family has is not completely separate from the public's so they spend money from the public too. This happened because they didn't have a boundary since the beginning that their family gained power so they have continued ever since. They want wealth and power. They are willing to settle the charges by paying money.

Our corruption topic is about Mike Flynn https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/01/us/politics/michael-flynn-guilty-russia-investigation.html and how he aided the Russians about lying to the FBI regarding the conversation with the Ambassadors. Mike Flynn did this because he wanted to undermine President Obama’s pre-existing policy about foreign policy. This action was wrong because it took place before President Trump was inaugurated. In conclusion, what Mike Flynn wanted was money, which would make him greedy and selfish. 

Why?:
To gain power over a group of people, with money and correct backings the Russian mafia is near untouchable and uses that to their advantage in the corrupt country of Russia. Many speculate that Russia manipulated the election towards a direction they hoped would lead the U.S into corruption as well as make us weaker. 

          The Corruption we’ve chose was the corrupt on border control agents letting illegal and drug dealers come across the border and the officers are being bribed as much as $215,000 and egg roll size of marijuana and cocaine even food which is how the illegals are able to come, even big cartels will offer $70,000 for coming across as well and a big loaf of illegal drugs such as cocaine, xanax. They were also able to come across the border by a patrol cop of mexico so they’re able to come across but back in March Donald Trump wanted to build a border around Mexico so that drug dealers and rapists will not be able to come along and cause a draft of illegal immigrants and drugs, There was a bust for an border patrol agent and a big cartel member who got busted for drugs and illegal immigrants smuggling to the US back in September 2013 and had counts of marijuana, cocaine, as well as sex slaves who were sold for sex back in 2013 these are some of corruptions.
