Be More Chill - Ned Vizzini (Part 1) #1

The book I am currently reading is “Be More Chill” by Ned Vizzini. I’d strongly recommend that you’d read it, but you should probably only read it if you know you’re mature enough to read it, it’s kind of a teen novel (it includes minor bad words). The book (so far) is about a teen in high school named Jeremy Heere, and he hears about this thing called the “squip”. The squip is a tiny pill-sized supercomputer that tells you what to do so you can get whatever you want in life. He awaits to buy one but I’m not going to spoil it for you yet. (⇀‸↼‶) I hope this made sense to you.

Also, "Be More Chill" is now a musical that was created in 2015 by Joe Iconis.

I am still reading “Be More Chill”. So far, Jeremy buys a squip for A LOT of money. The squip is telling him how to act and what he should do so that he appears like a new, better person all the time. He starts to approach “cool” girls with his attitude but the squip is telling him to ignore his closest friend, Michael Mell, because it believes Michael can ruin everything. I honestly think that the book is getting even better as I get farther into it. I’d still recommend that you read it (I hope you’re mature enough and that your parents let you), it’s a great book. ┐(￣ヘ￣)┌

Be More Chill (Part 3) - Ned Vizzini; The Giver - Lois Lowry #3 (Part 1)

So far, “The Giver” is a really good book. It revolves around a young boy named Jonas and also includes a few other characters. The location so far is in a Utopia where everything it set and stone but also perfect, the opposite of the type of society we live in. Jonas is an Eleven (the book includes a very odd age system) and when he becomes a Twelve, he will have a special ceremony and be assigned to a job. When children are Elevens, they have to volunteer in places and have enough volunteer hours so that they can actually become a Twelve and attend their own ceremony (it's like the parent hour system at NCS). Although I’m not too far into this book, I’d still recommend it to anyone because you’ll be able to see how different those people lives are in contrast to ours. They have a perfect, organized, confusing world unlike ours where everybody has their own schedule.

“Be More Chill” was a really fun book to read. Jeremy goes to a party but uses his mom’s car to drive to the party location (he didn’t know how to drive so the squip told him what to do) and also ingests a drug, then he told his parents and they were really disappointed in him. Later on, Jeremy performs in a play titled “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” with a few other people including his crush, Christine. In the middle of the play, he confesses his love for Christine but her reaction was not good and he wants to redeem himself to her, by writing the entire book (Be More Chill) in his perspective. His squip writes the book and then gets outdated, so he had to flush it out with some Mountain Dew: Code Red. It was an amazing book, very funny and relatable at some points. There's always times where the author throws different situations at you which makes me want to keep reading.
(ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

The Giver - Lois Lowry #4 (Part 2)

I’m still reading “The Giver” and I have only read 2 more chapters. But moving on, I am still able to summarize what I have read. It started with Jonas and his family at their morning ritual in which they told their dreams. His dream was that he was in the bathing room in the House of the Old (an entire building just for the elderly, but specifically in the room where people volunteer to bathe some of the elderly) with his friend Fiona. He wanted her to remove her clothes and get into the bathtub so he could bathe her, but felt a bit angry because she wasn’t taking him seriously. Having the feeling of wanting something like what Jonas felt is called a Stirring in this book, and he needed to take a pill so that he wouldn’t feel it anymore. Other than that, Jonas and other Elevens had their Twelve ceremony (being a Twelve is the age of becoming an adult, I discovered). Others got put to their Assignments they would have to do their whole lives, but I wasn’t able to get to where Jonas received his. I am really enjoying this book so far; I am amazed at how this Utopia functions extremely differently from the type of world we live in. I highly recommend this book because of the reasons above.

(#5) Itachi's Story: Midnight - Masashi Kishimoto and Takashi Yano (Part 1)

Hello! I actually had to change the book I was reading because I had to return “The Giver” back to the public library, but I'm reading a new book now. The book is called “Itachi’s Story: Midnight” , the original story of it from the anime series “Naruto” by Masashi Kishimoto, but the author of the book is by Takashi Yano. It's definitely something I'd recommend to anybody. This book revolves around a boy named Itachi Uchiha who is a ninja in a village called Konohagakure (Village Hidden in the Leaves). Currently, I’m not too far into itㅡ only 1 chapter. But, he has a mission in which he has to kill someone in his very own village. He was reluctant to doing the mission, but could not refuse due to how important it was to his title as a ninja. Although I’m not far into the book, I really enjoy it so far. The way things are explained makes it seem more interesting, and I think that the author did really well on that. This is definitely the book for you if you’re someone who enjoys fantasy, action, and suspense.

(#6) Alice in Zombieland - Gena Showalter

Yes, I changed the book I was reading again (I got bored of the previous one). But, I’m now reading “Alice in Zombieland” by Gena Showalter. I haven’t read too much of it yet but I will try my best. The main character is Alice Bell and the story is currently set on the day of her 16th birthday. She didn’t have a party because her father is very paranoid about these monsters, but Alice didn’t care. But, she did want to go see her younger sister, Emma’s, dance recital with her family at least, and she did. Finally, the family went straight home after the recital (due to her father’s paranoia). That’s all I have read so far, and I’m very curious as to what monsters Alice’s father may be seeing. I would recommend it to people who enjoy fantasy with a little bit of action, because the back of the book gives me the idea that there is action and fantasy.

Red Queen - Victoria Aveyard (#7)

I stopped reading the previous book because I actually didn’t like it. Now I’m reading a book called “Red Queen” by Victoria Aveyard. The main character of the book is a girl named Mare Barrow, who lives in a village called The Stilts. It has that name because some of the buildings are quite tall. But moving on, there is a tournament on their First Friday event, where Silvers and Reds watch. Mare and her friend, Kilorn, come to watch the fight. Two Silvers, Samson and Cantos are put together to fight and Samson wins, almost killing Cantos which isn’t supposed to happen. So far, I’m enjoying this book. I think the way people are divided is really unique, but the action is also interesting. I recommend this book to people who like fantasy and some action.

If you’re confused on this Silvers and Reds thing, the world in that story is divided by blood. People with silver blood are considered royal, and their blood is shiny too. Those with red blood are just normal, or poor people. Mare is red-blooded, so she’s not royal or anything.

(#8) Codename: Sailor V - Naoko Takeuchi (Part 1)

Hi. I changed my book again because I’m picky. Now I’m reading the first volume of “Codename: Sailor V” by Naoko Takeuchi. I only read the first chapter, but this book revolves around a girl named Minako Aino. She just started her first year of middle school (their grade system may be different) and is great at sports, but her academics are pretty bad. Mina likes a 2nd-year male student named Higashi, but it turns out that he’s trying to brainwash people and make them his minions/slaves. Higashi is Mina’s enemy, but with the help of her talking cat, Artemis, and her magical pen and compact, Mina turns into the Champion of Justice, the Pretty Guardian in a Sailor Suit, Sailor Venus. You should read this if you like fantasy and mild action, because this book involves a lot of that. I think it’s a really cute book, and I’m actually going to finish it.
