This unit is explored through the following lines of inquiry:
  • how self-efficacy enhances human accomplishments and well-being (function)
  • our independence and responsibility in physical and digital environments (connection)
  • the changes we go through during puberty (change)

During this unit I am gathering evidence to showcase my understanding of the Learner Profile attributes: reflection and open minded. Take a look at the ways I have shown these and how I’ve developed my understanding of these profiles.
The Approaches to Learning (ATLs/skills) I am developing throughout this unit are Metacognition 'thinking about thinking' and Self Management Skills 'thinking and applying our states of mind’. As this unit develops throughout the year, I will continue to build on these and other skills such as goal setting as a learner. Take a look at my learning and let me share with you what I now know how to do. 
In my second unit, I’ve inquired into the transdisciplinary theme How the World Works. For this unit I will be constructing my own central idea to show the big understanding(s) I have taken away from all of the learning I have done. I will share this with you towards the end of the unit as part of my reflection. 
This unit is explore through the following lines of inquiry:
  • forms and sources of energy (form)
  • energy transfer and transformation (change)
  • how technological advances can be used to solve problems (connection)


During this unit of inquiry I’ve gathered evidence to showcase my understanding of the Learner Profile attribute: knowledgeable inquirer. Take a look at the ways I have shown these and how I’ve developed my understanding of these profiles.

In my fourth unit, I’ve inquired into the social studies strand ‘Resources and the Environment’ and ‘Human Systems and Economic Activity’ through the central idea, “consumers can make choices to ensure the sustainability of the Earth”.

The unit was explored through the following lines of inquiry:
  • our choices as consumers (perspective)
  • reasons Earth’s resources are being depleted (causation) 
  • sustainable solutions (responsibility)

During this unit of inquiry I’ve gathered evidence to showcase my understanding of the Learner Profile attributes: principled and caring. Take a look at the ways I have shown how I’ve developed these attributes. 















Related Concepts
I have continued to work on my thinking and communication skills focusing on ways I can consider new perspectives and also how to be an effective speaker and listener when trying to persuade an audience. 

I have learned much more about and gained new understandings of our related concepts: consumption/consumer, choice, finite resources (Earth’s natural resources), depletion, sustainability, solutions
