In Poe's early childhood, his mother, Elizabeth dies since some of his stories are about revenge, death, and torture. For example, the Tell-Tale heart is about how he kills and conceals a man who he 'loves' and Poe doesn't like the cold blue eye of the man. Also, during his early years, Poe was half adopted to John Allen Poe who was previously married until after Poe's schooling in The United States Academy of West Point. https://poestories.com/index.php

Death Theories

There are many theories about poe's death, 13 theories to be exact but, which one of them is true?
#1Beating - according to http://www.poemuseum.org many believe that when Poe got to Baltimore he had been robbed because he was wearing cheap and i'll fitting clothes. This lead to people thinking he got beaten, with what and by who, they wouldn't know. This isn't even hard to believe considering the fact that when poe got to the hospital he was slipping in and out of consciousness.
#2 Epilepsy - is a disorder that is also called seizure disorder and is caused when a nerve cells activity is disturbed, this causes seizures, hence the name seizure disorder.
#3 Dipsomania - other known as alcoholism, was also suspected as a cause of death for Poe.This was probably speculated because it was well known at that time that Edgar was a alcoholic. It showed in his writing and it showed in his real life so, it had to be considered that he could have died due to that.
#5 Toxic Disorder - another probable death cause is Toxic disorder, which is a series of physical disorders that are caused by toxins such as acute alcohol intoxication and lead poisoning.
#6 Hypoglycemia - more commonly known as low blood sugar. This causes drowsiness and can make a person shakey. It makes sense that he could have had low blood sugar fainted and got a concussion and that was the reason he was falling in and out of consciousness.

Edgar Allan Poe died on October 7,1849. His death remains a mystery, but there are many theories concerning his death. For one, many say it was the alcohol he consumed during his travels in Baltimore, the suggestion of disease was also present, and another theory is cooping. He was found in a bar house that was used for a polling location during an eletction according to ''http://www.poemuseum.org/poes-biography.'' Edgar Allen Poe may've also got abused by a gang who was making him vote for someone over and over again, trying to get what they want. Or, he could've been minding his own buisness traveling in Baltimore and then got hurt in the crossfire of a discretion, but who knows?
