Goal setting is important and, I admit, way underutilized by me early in my career. I personally feel that student goals are so important. I want a lot of things for my kiddos - if they don't want it or see it, it becomes irrelevant. I think the covenant of teacher AND student goals is the key. I must have high expectations and goals for my kiddos, but they must be involved in that process and frequent conversations must be had on where they are and what else they need to get where all stakeholders want them to be.
