In fall of 1921 I accepted a position at West Virginiaw collegiate institute,here i wrote many articles dealing with the state of colleges and acceptance of African-Americans or the lack thereof. I used these articles to support and raise awareness for the views brought up by Booker T. Washington and W.E.B. Dubois. I stayed for the next 7 years. Over time, i failed to receive funding for my research. I had an education but not a fair one because I wasn’t allowed to go to highschool. My parents taught me everything and to get into college I had to pass a writen essay exam. I went on to be the first African American who got a Ph.D in psychology. My area of focus was in investigating how to refute racism and bias in the theories used to conclude the inferiority of African Americans. My  work is thought to be a response to the Eurocentric methods of psychology.Another of My notable achievements was my work with the Journal of Social Psychology and the Psychological Bulletin. For years i was the official abstractor for both journals. I began writing the abstracts in 1946, between the years 1948 and 1949 wrote 505 abstracts. I eventually  wrote over 2,000 abstracts during my time with these two journals. Most of the abstracts i wrote were from French and German authors, others were Russian, Spanish, and English. It was my fluency in these languages that enabled me to make this contribution. We were the first African man and women to get our Ph. D in Psychology.
G. Stanley Hall- I owe so much of my career to him because when I got drafted to the war he made sure I could go back to school to finish my degree.
James P. Porter- He influenced me greatly and he was my psychology professor and the dean of Clark University.
Sigmund Freud- Me and Freud study similar areas and we bond through that.
