In any house or apartment built, the bathroom is always big enough to include at least one toilet, one sink and one shower, some apartments may have more than this, but for the purposes of my minimalistic, natural disaster preparedness apartment i will only have one bathroom with the bare minimum.

I was also told to make my apartment more proportional. My apartment had beds and fridges that were tall and proportional to the apartment size, but my doors were very short and any person living in my apartment would not be able to walk through the doors standing up straight. Also when I make my final apartment I will make my bathroom walls full size instead of the very short walls I am using now. When walking through all apartments they are proportional to the person living in it. The doors and beds are all proportional to the apartment size.

In most apartment built today they are built with materials that allow it withstand heavy weight for it will be supporting other apartments.

A minimalistic apartment that allows only the necessities that contained one bedroom, one bathroom, a small kitchen, and living room. This apartment is not only minimalistic but allows homeowners to be protected from natural disasters. This includes cyclones, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc... This idea was created after researching and finding our the high demand in housing and apartments that are small and can be stacked on top of each other creating more housing without using as much area as houses or townhouses.

Since todays generation is generally looking for more modern houses with many windows, but also provide a unique vibe, the house that I create must be able to meet all of these requirements, while also being able to protect people and their belongings from natural disasters. By creating this modern home that has a purpose more than to be lived in it will attract clients that are within their 20's and 30's, but also clients that live in disaster prone areas. Since this home is accommodating to young people it will also only accommodate to 1-2 people. There is one master bedroom and one bathroom that would only suit 1-2 people and not an entire family. This could limit the target audience, for families would not be looking at my apartment because it would be too small to accommodate a family the size of 3-5.

This design was meant to be built in an area around many other homes, or on top of each other this way the home can save space and this way the large population of 7.7 billion people can be accommodated with homes that are built on top of each other.

When constructing the model for the home, the materials used were very flimsy and did not look very professional withe drawings and pencil marks on it. When the clients look at this model it is having a negative impact on them because the materials are not good quality and it makes the model and design look unprofessional and the clients can not take it seriously. To have a better impact on the clients I will use greater quality materials to build the model that can be painted and textured to make the clients see themselves living in the house and this can sway them into buying the house.

The research I have done has showed me that I should make an apartment that is minimalistic and should be a small enough apartment that it can be easily moved from from the building site to the final destination. This is the definition of modular housing. From seen in other modular houses most of them have plenty of windows, but they were just regular houses, not natural disaster preparedness apartments. From asking someone that lives in a natural disaster area I have gathered information that states that when making the product there should be protective glass on the ceiling to give the apartment a homey feel but they can be covered up by a case.

*A lightweight material used for making scale models

These high ceilings effect the temperature for the hot air rises leaving the ground floor very cold. This results in an overuse of our heaters for they are working to hard and the electricity bill is more expensive then what it would be if the ceilings were lower.

Another flaw in the building design is that within the middle of the school there are classrooms that have no windows to let in natural light. This flaw is caused by the largeness of the school and the incapability to put windows in class rooms that are in the middle. This causes the school to may more money for electricity to keep the lights on all day instead of teachers using the natural light.
