The poster has many areas which I have developed for example most billboards don't include production credits. Due to the way I designed the poster it left me enough room to add credits which will allow my audience to see who was involved. The title is placed just above with the production company.  The poster also includes the Actors involved at the top. The font I used relates to the house style of the film which is clearly shown for each bit of text. The title of the film is clearly seen on the left and because of the background it blends in perfectly. On these posters The title has to be clearly seen and has to have its own style if it wants to attract the target audience. The main image develops from real life products as it includes the two main protagonists and the object significance of the film. To make my poster look more professional I had the main protagonists slightly overlap with the watch slightly behind them. The watch has a certain shadow behind it create an affect which helps it stand out from the background image. Most films only show the actors who are in the film to attract its audience so having an object of significance challenges the conventions. To add to that my poster has the location of where the film is based in as the background image. As it is an office it would be good to add that to the poster to really grab my audience. The lightening is quite dark which helps the other elements of the poster stand out. Even though its dark its still easy to see that its an office.The tagline is placed above the image of the actors to create mystery and intrigue my audience. Taglines help sell your film to the audience if done right. The tagline can be short or long but but has to be easy for the audience to read. Overall I think it has developed many conventions that has made my poster stand out from the rest. The title is made bold and simple but it has an affect which makes it look attractive. The size is very large so it is clear to see from a far. The background image is of a office environment which links with how the main characters are dressed. The characters are standing back to back which shows that there's a connection between the characters. It develops the convention as most movie magazines have the main characters in a certain pose to help promote the news story. Just above the main image near to the top right corner is a pug which has a competition to grab tickets for the film. This follows conventions as movie magazines have some sort of competition to make readers interested in winning a prize that could be related to the main coverline. The main coverline is located at the bottom of the cover. The font size is the biggest on the page as it has to attract the target audience but it is also the top story at the time.  The "Exclusive" will help grab the reader's interest. There are other coverlines which follows and challenge some movie magazines. This is because some have just the main coverline that will interest the reader but some have other coverlines to go with the main to show what else is in the issue. It helps give an insight into the magazine. The barcode is another convention it follows as most magazines include them on the front covers. It can be placed anywhere but I placed it at the top left corner next to the title of the magazine. This will leave plenty of room for the important elements of the poster like the main coverline and the main image. Many of the magazines I explored had similar elements but I want mine to be different and stand out from the rest. The first magazine from Empire has coverlids images, a clear title and use of house style. I looked at the house style and saw that it used two different font colours which combined together to make certain blocks of text stand out for example the coverlines have white and red house style for the story. Red for the title and white for the description. It is also used at the bottom where it lists certain films that relate to the images. Another idea I took was the size of some of the text to make things more important than others. For example the name of the film is the largest to show its audience that this is the main coverline of the issue. The smallest is the cover lines on the right hand side. with this I can squeeze in more on the cover that will attract my target audience. The second cover is Total film and its for the film Batman vs Superman. On this magazine cover it has a couple of added elements that made it different from the last one I looked at. The elements I noticed was that it included a pug for the viewer to look at and that the cover lines are reduced to stand out the main coverline which is Batman vs Superman. The main image includes multiple characters where most focus on one character which normally has a popular actor playing the role. In this case it has the two important characters Batman and Superman separated by Wonder woman so I took this idea and have the two important characters from our film endless on the front cover.

These helped give me ideas on what elements I could add to my poster. The 1st picture of a real life billboard of "The Revenant". Below the Title are the production credits for the film. I thought it would be useful as it still leaves most of the space for the main image of the protagonist. Another example is picture 2 "Hereafter" which also has the production credits below the title. Also with this poster the main protagonists are overlapped which helps create an interesting affect which will help create interest. So I though this idea would look good for my poster design. The 3rd picture for "Les Miserables" has actors placed at the top near to the left hand side and the image of a character on the right. I thought this layout could be a good starting point and help place my elements. With these ideas it could help me have a good idea how billboards are presented and designed.  I also looked at the house style of each product and see how they they use it to attract their audience. I thought I could try something different by having two font colours that fit the colour theme of the title.
