Reception jumped into a Drawing Club adventure with Popeye and his superhuman strength. They loved sketching the mighty sailor, and their magic codes transformed him into all sorts of funny things (even Mrs. Phillpot)! Several children impressed us by writing sentence codes with capital letters, finger spaces, full stops, and number‑bond codes.

PE day for Reception Class is on Mondays 

This week in science, Year 1 explored animal diets. The children created a Venn diagram and sorted different animals into groups based on what they eat. 

Year 2 started learning about materials this week, exploring their properties and discussing why certain materials are best suited for different jobs.

PE days for Year 1 & Year 2 are on Mondays and Wednesdays 

Year 3 and 4 have worked enthusiastically to showcase the impressive knowledge they have developed about the Amazon Rainforest. Through this topic, they have been refining a variety of writing skills and applying them confidently in their non-chronological reports.

In science this week, the children took part in a hands‑on investigation exploring how different beak shapes affect a bird’s ability to gather food, linking their discoveries to Darwin’s theory of evolution. Using a range of tools to represent beaks, they tested which adaptations were most effective for different food types. The classroom was buzzing with excitement, curiosity and problem‑solving as pupils worked like real scientists-it was fantastic to see them so engaged in bringing evolutionary ideas to life.
