Operation Rolling Thunder failed to convince North Vietnam to make peace. On April 17 1961 a force of Cuban exiles led be the CIA attacked Cuba in the Bay of Pigs Invasion. However the invasion was badly managed and people were poorly equipped with no cover. Because of this all but 300 soldiers were either captured or killed during the invasion.
