Another benefit is that it helps the student and teacher identify the specific areas that the student finds confusing or is struggling with.

One of the drawbacks is causing students to feel burnt-out. After a busy day at school, they just want to come home and relax or do extracurricular activities, but they have to finish homework first. Homework takes up their after-school free time and family time. There are also several studies that show that homework isn't linked to academic performance.
