Some climate change is normal for the Earth, due to natural causes such as changes in the Earth’s orbit. Some human activities are speeding things up. Burning fossil fuels like oil, the industries ,for example, upset the balance of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. As a result temperatures have risen significantly over the past 100 years and sea level too. However, the earth's climate changes also risk compromising people's health and lives.

Some climate changes are normal for the Earth, due to natural causes such as changes in the Earth's orbit. Human activities, such as the burning of fossil fuels, also contribute to climate change.

The Earth's climate is constantly changing and changes due to natural causes are usually gradual. Scientists believe that with global warming we can expect more severe weather patterns including heat waves, hurricanes, floods and droughts. Changes in the Earth's climate have the potential to affect people's health. Get directly injured by extreme weather events caused by climate change, such as powerful hurricanes.

Climate change can also affect people indirectly, through changes in habitat and the quality of air, water and food. Global warming can increase the areas where disease-carrying insects can live and reproduce, which can lead to more disease outbreaks in new places. In areas hit very hard, global warming can also affect the social structure and the economy.

We often read about animals in danger of extinction or about melting glaciers, considering them problems that do not belong to us directly. This is because the consequences of these changes are not well known. Just think of the glaciers of the Himalayas, which may no longer exist in 2100, and which feed ten major rivers in Asia, from the Ganges to the Mekong, passing through the Yellow River. It is therefore necessary to understand that speaking of the melting of glaciers, we must automatically deal with the possible future absence of one of the fundamental goods for human life, water, which we believe is a good that will last forever, but which, in fact, it is already in short supply. The absence of this element threatens agricultural production, and poses the risk of food insecurity.

Rapid changes in the climate have been observed by scientists since the middle of the last century. The earth’s climate is subject to seasonal ,decadal and secular fluctuations that depend on natural causes such as the earth’s orbit ,solar radiation ,ocean circulation and volcanic eruptions (climate variability) . In recent years , however, deeper and more rapid changes in the climate system have been caused by man , mainly through the increasing emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.with the first world conference on climate change in 1979 , scientists began to question how to predict and prevent potential anthropogenic changes that cloud have a negative on the well - being of humanity.

The ozone is a vital gas for the life on the earth . In the stratosphere about 40 kilometeres from the earth’s surface, this gas makes a protective shield that stops the ultraviolets rays. If there isn’t this shield the life on hearth can’t be possible .

The pollution has caused the ozone hole. UVA rays are sent to the Earth from the sun, bouncing on the ground and become Infrared are returned to the atmosphere but they can't go outside because they find the layer of smog and remain imprisoned warming Earth's surface. This is the “ Greenhouse effect”

Consequently, the glaciers melt and flood coastal areas and increase flooding seaside city like Venice. The area of glaciers in the North Sea has been reduced by almost 10%.

A few of mountains between 1850 and 1980 have lost about a third of their surface and half of their mass. (The Dolomites Marmolada glacier has lost Within a few years about 16 meters extension).

The hot and salt water leaves the Mexico’s Gulf and arrives at the North Pole, during the way the water evaporates so its density grows, and it starts to go downward. For that reason the water is getting cold and it’s going down until it changes rout. If the melting of glaciers makes much fresh water, the salt water will not grow the density and will not go downward, so the Gulf Stream will be stopped.
Furthermore the increase of temperatures will lead to an increase of force 4 and 5 cyclones and typhoons and as has already been seen, in the last thirty-five years temperatures have doubled.

Droughts, floods and temperature increases will be ideal conditions for tropical infections.

Animals and plants will experience enormous difficulty to adapt to climatic changes and many species will die out. Climate change is a reality and is already causing impacts and phenomena of frequency and intensity never seen in human history and with them suffering, loss of life, disruption of ecosystems and the wealth of biodiversity that sustain our life. Global warming will have catastrophic effects such as sea level rise, increase in heat waves and periods of intense drought, floods, an increase in the number and intensity of storms and hurricanes. These phenomena will have an impact on millions of people, with even greater effects on those living in the most vulnerable and poor areas of the world, they will damage food production, threaten vital species, habitats and ecosystems. disease-carrying insects can live and reproduce, which can lead to more disease outbreaks in new places.

Climate change is a significant variation of average weather conditions, conditions becoming warmer, wetter, or drier. Changes in ice and snow cover, sea level, temperature, rainfall, snow, and wind. A variety of factors, both natural and human, can influence the earth’s climate system. When the earth absorbs the sun’s energy, or when atmospheric gases prevent heat released by the earth from radiating into space greenhouse effect), the planet warms. The greenhouse gas emissions that we generate are the leading cause of the earth’s rapidly changing climate. Greenhouse gases play an important role in keeping the planet warm enough to inhabit. The burning of fossil fuels like coal, oil, and gas for electricity, heat, and transportation is the primary source of human-generated emissions. A second major source is deforestation, which releases sequestered carbon into the air.

Earth's climate has changed throughout history. Just in the last 650,000 years there have been seven cycles of glacial advance and retreat, with the abrupt end of the last ice age about 11,700 years ago marking the beginning of the modern climate era,and of human civilization. Most of these climate changes are attributed to very small variations in Earth’s orbit that change the amount of solar energy our planet receives. The current warming trend is of particular significance because most of it is extremely likely to be the result of human activity since the mid-20th century and proceeding at a rate that is unprecedented over decades to millennia.1Earth-orbiting satellites and other technological advances have enabled scientists to see the big picture, collecting many different types of information about our planet and its climate on a global scale. This body of data, collected over many years, reveals the signals of a changing climate. The heat-trapping nature of carbon dioxide and other gases was demonstrated in the mid,19th century.2 Their ability to affect the transfer of infrared energy through the atmosphere is the scientific basis of many instruments flown by NASA. There is no question that increased levels of greenhouse gases must cause Earth to warm in response.
