example from class: when we read the story, "Hello Monster," we find the main character in a sewer and i had a connection to another movie IT which made it easier to understand
explanation: in Hello Monster when the character was in the sewer it reminded me of another move so i could make a prediction to what might happen in the next part of the story.
explanation from outside example: In this video we can see a kid flying into the air with the high school musical theme song is in the background. I feel a connection to this because i know the song personally. example from class: in the movie, "The Wrong Guy"  we see the main character fail most of the movie. In example when he was the handyman trying to fix the fence, then it all broke apart or when he decided to leave town and he ended up in basically a farm.
explanation: when we saw the character not use the right glue to fix the fence we thought, hey, he just spent hours working on that fence and now it's all broken. That makes us feel better because it's making us know that everyone makes mistakes and we can laugh about it.

As you can see in this video, a sister or friends put oil on the ground and told her sister or friend to run in to get her juice. When she came she had a surprise waiting for her! She slipped all over the floor on the oil and even with that she then broke the glass of the stove. This usually has a problem, then a solution
example form class:  in the movie that we watched, "The Wrong guy," we see this part when the main character walks into his bosses room and sees him dead at this desk and tries to clean up the desk and around him.
explanation: When the main character was trying to clean up the surroundings he kept making the situation worse. When he tried to do something the blood would go everywhere and now he also has his finger prints on the knife. It was a pattern of events that kept getting worse for him as the time went on.
explanation from outside of class example #1: In this video a guy is doing the cup song challenge where you make the cup do the same beat of the song. He does it the first time with a cup of water which is fine, but then as he keeps going the things he is using are getting more extreme. This is a pattern going on throughout the whole video but it keeps getting worse and worse which is what makes the video funny. At the end he is faced this tons of cups which then made a huge mess of his house.

example from class: In the story we read, "A Tongue-Lashing for Deaf Ears" the main character wants to use "a tiny little gun" to stop the talking of little boys during the movie.
explanation: When watching a movie at the theater there will be some talking involved and people clapping and laughing. The woman in the story absolutely hates it! She thinks she might need a gun for it to stop which is very shocking!
explanation from outside of class #1: in this video this guy is going to the dentist to go for a checkup. When he gets called in the dentist seemed a little off, sorta unqualified for the job. When he looks around everything seems fake so he gets a little nervous. The doctor gives him a suction thing to keep from spit form getting in the way. He then looks around and sees that the line wasn't attached to anything but the sink. example from class: in the story we read, "Harrison Bergeon," we read that in a world were everything is equal a man had enough! he stripped away his handicaps willing to show everyone real dance and music!
explanation: In this story everyone is made to be equal by having society wear handicaps, and if one was to take them off they would be sent to jail or face a big consequence. When someone finally did take a stand take off their handicaps it was absurd and unexpected. 
explanation from outside of class example #1: In this video we can see a cat!!!!! but it is not standing the right way!!!!! its so absurd o the cat to be standing in this way, which makes it to me, funny! it is also in a way unexpected because when you see a cat you don't expect it to stand up in that way, because you always see cats laying down or walking on their four legs.

example from class: In the story, "Hello Monster" we read about a guy who has lost his keys down the sewers and tried to get them back by crawling down and trying to retrieve them. Once he is down there he can't get back up! a little after we find a kid who will not let us free from the sewers.
explanation: when we came to the part where the kid could let us free, he doesn't. Right when we thought ah we have found someone to help us out of this mess, we end up being starving and wet in the sewer for around two more days.
explanation from outside of class example #1: As you can see in this video, a little girl is trying out on the show Americas Got Talent. She is only six years old and is wearing a cute dress. When she went up you expected her to sing something like a Disney song or a Nursery rhyme. When she starts its the exact opposite. She starts to scream and sing about not so nice things. We all thought at the beginning that her and her brother were going to put on a nice PG family friendly song, but in nope! example from class: in the story we read, "Barney," we read about a doctor and him doing experiments from a island and the mouse writes a letter back to bring more female rats and to not come and search the island.
explanation: we know that the mouse has written the note and that the doctor has died, but the people that receive the letter do not know that the doctor is really dead and the rat is needing females to reproduce and make some sort of rat empire.
explanation from outside of class example #1: In this video there is a little kid at the pool. He wants to use this goggles in the pool but he cant find them. So, he goes to his mom to ask but we know that the goggles are right on his head! Even when the mom told him to touch his head where the goggles were he still didn't seem to the message. example from class: in the reading, "A Modest Proposal," we read about eating the children of Ireland.At one part of the story the author says, "In the most convenient parts of it, and butchers may be assured will not be wanting."
explanation: he is saying in the text that the butchers should and will be happy because they will have more product to sell or not run out of it. in another part of the story it said that the skin could be used for boots and gloves. This is verbal irony because who in their right mind out want to eat or wear young children! Even if Ireland was facing troubles i don't think anyone would even think of eat or WEARING children for their benefit.
explanation from outside of class example #1: In this video you see that it is Christmas time and the kids are opening their gifts. When the kid opens his gift it is a avocado! He doesn't want to be mean so he says, "It's an avocado.......thanks!" He was being verbally ironic to not hurt his parents feelings when he didn't get the gift he wanted for Christmas.
