<title>Blog post 1 The Roman empire was a successful and powerful domain built on a government headed by emperors and large territorial holdings around the Mediterranean Sea, Africa, and Asia. The city of Rome soon became the largest city in the world, (100 BC-AD 400). The empires population grew to an estimated 50 to 90 million inhabitants. A period of increasing trouble and decline began to fall upon the Romans and their empire crumbled after a short 500 years. Latin and Greek were the official languages to the Roman empire, but other languages were still spoken throughout. Before the rise of Rome, I was a patchwork of different cultures. These ethnic and cultural assortments mostly consisted of; the Celts, The Latins, The Greeks, The Goths, and the Serbians. Trade was essential to Rome; it was one of their main sources of income. And before long the city was crisscrossed with trade routes, which imported a whole variety of foods, materials, wine etc. Trade was so vital to the empire that when it began to collapse, trade throughout the lands that had once made up the Roman Empire, also collapsed. Rome consisted of many regions, some of the most popular being; Macedonia, Galatia, and Phrygia. Rome was always the biggest, and for most of the Roman empires life, Constantinople was a small town, but by the end of the empire it was second biggest city. Antioch was also a big city, so was Alexandria, Palmyra was a big city until it was destroyed. </title>

<title>Blog post 2 - Saul of Tarsus first appears in the Bible after being a witness to the stoning of Stephen, the first martyr to the cause of Christ. He (Saul) was solemnly against Christians and sentenced punishments to them such as beatings and death. On the road to Damascus Paul was met by a blinding light and was spoken to by God, and in that one moment of fear, insight, and regret, Saul understood that Jesus was the true Messiah and that he had helped murder and imprison innocent people. Despite his previous beliefs as a Pharisee, he now knew the truth about God and was obligated to obey him. Pauls life-changing experience on the road to Damascus led to his baptism and preach of the Christian faith. He became one of the most determined of the apostles and suffered for it. </title>

<title>Blog post 4 - The letters that Paul wrote responded to conditions of the early church. He addressed them to specific communities. The nine letters were addressed to the Romans, Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, and the Thessalonians (some of these communities received more than one letter). The purpose of Pauls letters was to inspire unity among believers and to instruct the faithful on difficult points of doctrine. The letters were highly individualized, responding to specific problems of the community to which they are addressed to. Pauls main message was in Jesus Christ God had acted to provide salvation for all who believe (Rom 1: 1-7) </title>

<title>Blog post 5 - During the life of St Paul, he met many cultural challenges when converting to Christianity. One of these challenges is revealed in one of his epistles. In order for gentiles to become Christian, they had to follow the Jewish law, which consisted of circumcision. Paul could not condone this behaviour and believed that there was a difference between circumcision and salvation. And in order to receive salvation, you must show dedication in Jesus and rather than following the works of the law. The Jews were initially confused by this and this may have been a challenge for St Paul during his mission. </title>

<title>Blog post 6 - The messages that Paul portrayed in his epistles are still relevant to the way we live today. In Philippians 2:1-5, Paul expresses how being Christian is all about staying selfless and humble, as this is the way Jesus lived. In today’s world, this message is still applicable to everyone. This passage urges us to choose humility over arrogance in the greedy world we currently live in. </title>
