For example, it states,"The second time you wouldn't be so lucky they would kill you." This means that they would kill you escaped from them the first time and if they found you they would kill you. Jimmy had escaped from them once already so there is a chance that if they capture Jimmy he can be killed so the reader would be worry for Jimmy. Also, it states,"Jimmy had already to avoid the rebels during an earlier raid." This means that if he got caught he could have gotten killed. Jimmy escaped once and since he escaped once and if they found him he could be killed. This can make the reader worry about Jimmy and wonder what is going to happen to him.
