As mentioned in the video, we can theoretically edit the genes of a mosquito to carry anti-malaria gene and reproduce with other mosquitoes to prevent the further spread of malaria.

There has been lab bred mice that were inserted with IGF-1, which cause rapid muscle growth. Those mice now are nicknamed Schwarzenegger mice.

MGF (Mechano-growth factor) is a gene that is responsible for muscle production after exercise. The levels of MGF decline as we age, which is what cause our loss of muscle age we grow older. Insertion of a certain gene MGF (Mechano-growth factor) can keep our body fit even after aging.

These “enchantments” are only in the testing stage and can cause side effects and other unpredictable effects, whether short or long term, or even fatal.

Genetic enhancement in plants are easier than in more complex organisms such as humans.

At a 1964 winter Olympics a cross country skier from Finland who won multiple medals was later discovered to have a genetic mutation that cause him increase his production of red blood cells, because his body was not able to turn off the EPO production. That allowed him to increase his capacity for aerobic exercise. There have been athletes that used synthetic drugs to mimic the effects of increased red blood cell production.
