Normally he is in trouble for stealing food from people or something small and silly like that.But that day was differnt that day there was all of his teachers and a police man. In a panic Dave says, "I didnt steal anything"(p.g 9)
But this time he wasnt in trouble he was getting saved. While at the time Dave had know idea what is going on. All dave ever wanted was to be liked and loved not to be considred a bad boy by his mother. He also thought that maybe the were confused that there loving mother was hurting one of there sibling and did not know it was abuse. But then dave had a brilliant idea he wanted to survive and he used his brain and he did. He say the clock and he knew his brother would be home soon and mother never acted this strange when there were people around so dave killed time by making his mother mad. And the next thing that happpend was his brother opening the door. Dve new that he had won that battle and now he belielves in himself.
