These past few days, I haven't been my best self. I have been feeling down, for some reason. Hours turned to days, and days turned to weeks, yet I still couldn't figure out my change of mood. And that's when I realized the truth behind my downgrading alterationโ€“ lack of self appreciation. 

To be completely honest, being a scholar and a consistent student brought my self-standards up very high, which is really bad, because I feel like making myself happy is by being the best. All of these, to the point that I forgot to thank the smallest things around me. 

I forgot to appreciate the delicious homemade meals that my parents cook, my consistent high grades, my scholarship, my friends, my annoying brother, my adorable pets, pulling good cards in my gacha games, surfing through the net without anyone bothering me, figuring out the truth about my sexuality, and even just by waking up everyday.

All of these may be simple and lame in other people's perspective and eyes, but for me, it's actually the small things that matter, and are worth thanking for.

What makes you thankful every day?

What makes me thankful every day is realizing that there is a God out there who is watching us. A God who is powerful enough to create and destroy this universe and loving enough to take care of dirty beings like us. Many things make me thankful every day. From my family to the life that I have right now. All of these make me thankful for all I have every day. Here is the list of the things that make me thankful every day:

  1. Family/loved ones - I'm thankful that every day is a chance that I can spend time with them and make new memories that I will cherish forever.
  2. Friends/Classmates - I am thankful that I have friends that I can rely on and depend on every day. I am very happy that they came at the right time and in the right place in my life.
  3. My past experiences/blessings - All of my past experiences and blessings are always my reminder to strive through life when I'm at my lowest. That's why I am thankful that those experiences happened and I also believe that they happened for a reason.

And these are the things that make me feel thankful every day.

Every day is a new start or beginning for all of us. We can restart or continue to grow as a person. What makes me thankful every day is the people that stayed with me through my ups and downs and of course God. I'm grateful to God. I'm thankful that gitagaan ko ni God ug another day to live. That I was still able to wake up, to continue on living. What makes me thankful everyday? There are alot of things that Iโ€™m very thankful of, even the smallest things, so Iโ€™ll state some. 

I am very thankful that I get to wake up with a nice morning everyday. The first time I wake up, i get to see my love ones again. Another day means I can do another good things and do what I love. Another day means I can continue my role in life. 

Iโ€™m also very thankful to God for making me and my love ones healthy and happy. Iโ€™m thankful that I get to eat a meal 3 times a day. Iโ€™m thankful for everything I have right now. Having them means its meant for me and therefore I should be thankful and contented of it. I am thankful for.....
The simple things in life, the air I breathe, because without it, I wouldnโ€™t be alive. I am thankful for the joy life brings me, but the sadness too, because if there isnโ€™t any sadness there will be no happiness too. I am thankful for the music that I hear every day and the sun that shines so brightly upon us. When I think about the happiest moments in my life, that reminds me of the faces of my friends. Every time when I heard the words: secret, laugh, joke, help, that is connected with my contemporary, I always think how wonderful the friendship is and how grateful I am. But most of all, I am thankful to my family, my one and only home, for the words of support, unconditional love, and care they had given me. I am also thankful for the exhaustion I feel at the end of the day because it means that I had worked my hardest the whole time. And I am thankful because I have something worth thanking for. I am thankful for my ups and downs, for the successes and defeats, for the contentment and disappointments, and for the lessons theyโ€™ve taught me. Not every day may be bright and full of bliss but thatโ€™s what makes me appreciate those moments even more. I am thankful for today and for having a bright future to look forward to, full of love, happiness, opportunities, and challenges.

The first thing that I am thankful is life,  I managed to wake up every morning with a frown.  I am also grateful for being healthy despite living in a world full of illness and diseases. I am glad that I didn't catch the covid19 virus, perhaps it's because I frequently stay in my room. 24/7 ligid ligid in my bed while stressing myself out because of quizziz tests. Being part of a family that is stuggling due to financial unstability,   I must state that I am extremely thankful for having a scholarship.
