PROJECT PROPOSAL: IMPROVING ARGUELLES BUILDING COMFORT ROOMS AT THE NATIONAL TEACHERS COLLEGE.

1.) What is the problem?

A: The restroom facilities in arguelles is insufficient supply of toilet paper, soap and hand sanitizers and other hygiene materials not just in restroom equipments but also in the facilities itself too. Arguelles building restrooms are not in good condition. The doors are broken, and there are several issues with cleanliness, making the restrooms uncomfortable and unhygienic for use.

2.) What's the best solution?

A: Paperless Toilets: In some high-tech restrooms, consider offering paperless options such as bidets or advanced toilet paper dispensers to enhance hygiene and reduce paper waste.

Touch-Free Trash Cans: Implement touch-free trash bins to further reduce the spread of germs and improve waste management.

Sanitary Napkins Vending Machine: This kind of machine will help students especially female students to easily have sanitary napkins when they're in period. This will help female students to have an easy and accessible napkins rather than buying napkins outside our school.

Improvement of Facilities: Our school needs to check the restroom facilities every month to see if there are anything that will be need to fixed or improve. This will help students to comfortably use our school restrooms.

3.) Why will this solution work?

A: This solution works because setting clear guidelines for restroom use helps ensure that everyone treats the space with respect, preventing misuse and damage. securing funding ensure that restrooms are regularly stocked with essentials such as soap and properly maintained, keeping them clean and functional. In such matters, if we put soap and other items in the bathroom, it may help increase cleanliness in the bathroom and maintain its cleanliness inside, making the bathroom better. It also allows for long-term improvements, such as better accessibility features or facility upgrades. combining regulations with consistent funding creates a sustainable system that maintains restrooms in good condition over time. when the entire community takes responsibility for their use, it fosters a shared commitment to keeping the space clean and accessible for everyone.

Project Idea: School Gardening Program

1. What's the problem?

We’ve noticed how many students today don't have enough opportunities to learn about sustainable practices or how to care for the environment. At the same time, the school lacks green spaces where students can engage with nature and has limited environmental awareness, poor nutritional habits, limited physical activity, and the promotion of healthy eating habits, enhancement of science education, encouragement of physical activity, fostering of community connections, and reduction of stress. So, we proposed the project idea “School Gardening Program.”

2. What's the best solution?

We believe our idea of having a garden in school where students can do the planting as a solution to the issue of the lack of environmental consciousness and green spaces inside the school. This works because it combines practical learning with environmental education. Students will gain hands-on experience by growing plants and vegetables, which helps them develop important life skills like responsibility and problem-solving. By integrating a hands-on gardening experience into the curriculum, schools can equip students with the knowledge and skills to become environmentally conscious citizens.

3. Why will this solution work?

We believe this solution will work because it provides students with hands-on learning, helping them learn practical skills (e.g., gardening) while also developing a better understanding with regards to environmental issues. As students learn to grow their own food, it’ll lead to a promotion of healthier eating habits by giving students access to fresh produce. In addition, this proposed program is able to create a green space within the school campus, improving the environment and providing an excellent area where everyone can relax and enjoy nature.

˚˖𓍢ִ໋🍃✧˚.🌿⋆ 𝗦𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗲-𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧: Weekly Waste Walk ˚˖𓍢ִ໋🌿✧˚.🍃⋆

🗑 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺?

╰┈➤ Improper waste segregation remains a significant challenge in the Philippines, exacerbated by poor implementation at the local level. Despite the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act (RA 9003), many barangays struggle with segregated collection, resulting in mixed waste clogging landfills and waterways, harming the environment and public health.

🗑 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻?

╰┈➤ To establish effective waste management, barangays will implement a daily or weekly collection schedule for segregated waste, supported by designated drop-off points for easy access by residents. The local authorities will enforce regulations, improve efficiency, and promote proper waste practices. Educational campaigns, such as workshops and seminars, will raise community awareness about segregation’s importance. Additionally, monitoring systems and incentive programs will be introduced to encourage active participation and ensure the program’s long-term success.

Lastly, it can also educate members on proper waste segregation, reduce single-use plastics, and promote reusing materials. Establish partnerships with recycling centers and encourage community clean-up drives. These efforts reduce landfill waste, conserve resources, and foster environmental responsibility among individuals.

🗑 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸?

╰┈➤ This solution will work because it makes waste segregation easier and more convenient for everyone. By providing accessible drop-off points and setting a regular collection schedule, people will have a clear and simple way to separate their waste. The involvement of barangay officials and local waste providers ensures that the system is monitored and supported, making residents more likely to follow the rules. With regular collection and proper waste management, less trash will end up in landfills and waterways, reducing environmental harm. This approach also encourages recycling and composting, which will create a sense of responsibility for the community and improve public health.

1.) What is the problem?
- The problem that our group found is the lack of accessibility for students with disabilities in our school. Many students face challenges such as inaccessible facilities, limited access to learning tools, and a lack of understanding from others. These barriers make it difficult for them to fully participate in their education and school activities. This leaves them at a disadvantage compared to their peers. We believe it’s important to address these issues to ensure that all students have equal opportunities and feel supported in an inclusive school environment.

2.) What's the best solution?

Solution 1: Upgrade Infrastructure and Provide Assistive Technologies
- We propose upgrading the school’s infrastructure to remove physical barriers. This includes installing ramps, elevators, accessible restrooms, and sensory-friendly spaces. Additionally, we suggest equipping classrooms with assistive technologies such as Braille materials, text-to-speech devices, and hearing aids to ensure all students can participate in lessons effectively.

Solution 2: Train Staff and Educate on Disability Rights and Etiquette
- Next, we recommend training our staff on how to accommodate diverse needs in the classroom, especially in using assistive technologies. It’s also crucial to educate both staff and students on disability rights and proper etiquette. By increasing awareness, we can foster a more respectful and understanding school culture where all students feel valued.

3.) Why will this solution work?

     - This strategy addresses not only social but also physical barriers by combining training, awareness campaigns, and realistic and practical as possible solutions to infrastructure improvements through various programs approaches. With that, Students with disabilities can engage completely and confidently in school and community activities by fostering inclusivity and creating an more accessible environment.
