She tells Joselle that she is going to California with her boyfriend.

But she doesn't. She stays at their house. Joselle finds out and her

grandma takes her home in the middle of the night

Blaze and Joselle are dancing in the rain when Blaze see's her pen tattoos of the words of stone. He figures out that she lied about everything and wrote the words of stone on the hill. In the end they she apologizes to him and he apologizes to her

The spoon trick is a symbol of Joselle and

her mother. It tells us that she has had good times with

her mom. It also is like Joselle because on the outside she may

look normal but on the inside she has a very complicated life.

With spoons if you look at them one way you are right side up.

The other way you are upside down.

In this book the inciting incident is when Joselle writing the words of stone on the hill. All she wanted to do was to complicate the life of Blaze Werla. She wanted other people to have more complicated lives than her own. But she ended up complicating her life even more.

Joselle steals the fox from Blazes mineature Noah's Ark.

The Ark was Blazes favorite toy especialy when he was little.

After his mom died he smashed one of each animal. So that was his only fox. But then Claire makes him 2 big bronze foxes.

In the beginning of the story Joselle is sad and lonely. She had her heart set on

complicating Blaze's life. She was a liar and couldn't help it. By the end of the book

she had met Blaze and they had become great friends. She had stopped lying and

was back living with her mother. She and Blaze had gotten into a fight but she hoped

they would resolve it eventually.

I think that the theme of Words of Stone

is friends can be family or just as close as family is. And that people can change.

The story is resolved when Blaze goes over to Floys house to apologize to Joselle, but she is not there. She left.
