         <description><![CDATA[<p>Understanding that emotions are neutral is so important. Because we tend to think that certain emotions are negative, we will often try to suppress them. But emotions are really like the fuel gauge in our car- they tell us something is wrong, and when we are made aware (becos of the emotion we acknowledge we are feeling), then we can take steps to do something abt it. </p><p><br/></p><p>In my work, I can let this awareness of how certain emotions I’m feeling - like fear - help me understand the reason behind why I choose to respond or behave a certain way (which may not be based on reality but my perception).  And I can then make a more informed decision or choice the next time I am faced with the same situation. </p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The importance of sharing and acknowledging emotions can be sophisticated, not on either extreme ends, but exist in polarity, i.e. how Joy and sadness come together. And how the belief system is much more complex than “I am a good person” or “I am not good enough”, but embracing different emotions and learning more about selves. That is an area to facilitate and share with our students, and even staff to be aware of emotions, and how to respond to it positively! </p>]]></description>

In our roles, it is more difficult to freely express our emotions and we often need to suppress them.          <description><![CDATA[<p>The vocabulary is necessary, emotions are a critical part of who we are as human beings. The vocabulary allows us to access the deeper parts of ourselves so that we can make distinctions, without distinctions, we cannot see. I need intentionally carved out time and space to reflect and process what is going on inside. I think our teachers and students also need time and safe spaces to do this.  </p>]]></description>
