In the image, we can see John Lawrence dressed in a short sleeved shirt and short pants, as well as a hat. This is an example of costumes. The image shows that an Australian element is that they dress in short clothing, representing how Australians don't dress formally. This causes the viewer to think that Australians are unprofessional, as they dress in short clothing, showing how Australians go against the value professionalism.

This image has been constructed to reflect an Australian Identity by outlining the value of pride. This is expressed in the image which shows a man in a wetsuit and a snorkel and is covered in mud, with some pedestrians watching him, while the man is smiling. This image uses facial expressions to show that the man has clearly had fun of the activity he had just completed and seems to take pride in what he does and doesn't care what other people think of his messy state and personality. This encourages the viewer of the image to feel disgusted by this man's messy traits and think about the fact that this may be most Australian's values and/or attitudes.

the point of the image shown is to represent the historical figures of Australia and the importance associated with them. this is shown in that the Queen is placed on the Sydney opera house, which compliments her authority and significance with the significance of the Sydney opera house. further more the colours of the opera house are quite dark, similar to its surroundings, while the queen is a far lighter colour showring her separation from the rest of society. to add on to that, the colours are of a cooler nature suggesting that the queen is of good hearted nature. this causes the observer to understand the representation of the queen in this image as, a representation of Australia as a whole, and their values of their democratic monarchy system.

This image has been constructed to reflect an Australian identity through the visual conventions: space and eye level. First, the image shows a man and a woman holding a child each whilst traversing a flood that has reached their shin amidst what seems to be a hot day. The visual convention space supports the presence of Australian identity by displaying the family’s independence, which is one of an Australian’s core reinforced values, because they display strong independence, leadership and strength, which is shown by the value endurance demonstrated despite it being a seemingly hot day – as informed by his choice of light summer/Australian clothing. This also supports the value of independence and perseverance, because they are shown by themselves.

Secondly, the reinforced Australian value of openness and friendship is displayed and supported by the visual technique, eye level. This supports the value of openness, because it suggests friendliness and how hospitable and friendly they are to people. If this image was a low-level angled camera shot, it would show their dominance in contrast to their indiscriminate hospitality, which is shown by the eye-level shot, symbolising equality and openness. These values make the viewer recognise the Australian aspects of hospitality and independence through the endurance shown by the family in the flood without help, as well as the eye-level shot, which captures the people on the same level as the camera, giving a sense of equality and friendliness.

Image 4 is constructed to demonstrate Australia's beach culture as well as their confidence and boldness. In the image, the man is simply wearing underwear with the words 'Budgy Smuggler' printed on the back. This use of costuming demonstrates a key aspect of the Australian identity, beach culture. Australians love the beach, this demonstrates their values of relaxation and physical activity. The use of costuming also leaves the man very exposed. By dressing in so little, the man displays confidence, another value associated with the Australian identity. This image could evoke a sense of appreciation for the man's confidence as well as recognition for Australian beach culture.

( explain how the image is constructed to reflect an Australian identity ).

This image of the Sydney opera house with queen Elizabeth's image is constructed to reflect Australian identity by being angled and zoomed out enough to show Elizabeth's photo at the most recognisable Australian historical landmark, the Sydney opera house and show how much Australian have dedicated and how loyal Australians are to the monarchy and signifies her Superiority and authority. The Sydney opera house commemorated the queens life a day after her passing During the 8th of September of 2022 to show how important the day was and how and how the people of Australia loved the queen. This image was angled to show the Sydney opera house and zoomed out enough to show the historical landmark with the queens image to make the audience view her image in the middle of the historical landmark, this makes it look like the main focus of the image is the queen rather than the historical landmark. The angle is a nice angle and makes it look like you are actually in front of the Sydney opera house looking at the historical figure at eye-level and the image is zoomed out enough to visualise the Sydney opera house with Elizabeths image being in the middle and the focal point. The angle and size is a good effect that makes queen Elizabeth the focus of the image making the audience feel a sense of being Australian by showing how dedicated and loyal Australia as a country to the Monarchy.

A key aspect of Australian Identity is the value of democracy. Image #4 shows this by the man being at a polling station for a federal election, but he is wearing a speedo which is typically Australian swimwear. This juxtaposition of a formal event and the man being casually dressed. This is because Australia values its democracy because its a serious topic, and the man being there casually and dressed what would be considered inappropriate makes it seem like a joke. The viewers response to this would be to have a laugh because at the end of the day him taking all the seriousness out of voting is quite funny.

A key aspect of Australian identity is the value of family. Image 6 shows this with the indigenous man carrying his little child through the bush which expresses the value of family. This value is reinforced as most australians are very close to family and will help. These attitudes are expressed in the image by the adult man as his child is obviously really exhausted so without hesitation he carries the child. This depicts most Australian families as they are all very close and wiling to do anything for their family which is what the man in the photo does. This man could have just made his child walk but instead he carries him which is how this image reinforces the australian value of family.

The man's Australian identity in image for is of a man doing his vote in Australia's federal election may 21st 2022. This man's Australian identity prevails in how he's wearing a budgy smuggler to vote while at bondi beach. The image of the man uses techniques like positioning and perspective to draw us viewers eyes to him in the centre viewing him voting. This display's how he had to get his civil duty done, but then headed to the beach filling into the stereotype of that Australian's love the beach.

this picture represents the value of 'together through tough' that is often shown by Australian people by using the visual technique framing. The image shows a family of four walking together, each parent with a child in their arms. By framing this family in the middle (surrounded by flood water) they are giving the appearance of them being in the middle of 'trouble', or the 'tough'. This image shows the lengths of this family/Australians watching out for each other and caring.

This image is uses the visual convention of facial expressions to showcase the Australian value of resilience. In the image we can see a man in a wet suit and wearing a snorkel covered in mud with a smile across his face. This is an example of the visual convention facial expressions. The image shows us that an Australian attitude is that they will continue to do what they want even in harsh conditions. This makes the viewer think that Australians are tough, showing that Australian exhibit the value resilience.

I think that Australia is a country that does accept diversity and this is due to the range of different cultures that are seen in Australia today. Many foreigners migrate to Australia and bringing with them their culture which is hard to go without notice therefore making australians accept others culture. Aussies are usually not worried about much so they get used to these different cultures and by having these attitudes towards migrants leads them to be very accepting of the range of diversity in Australia.
