The strongest bonds that people can have is friendship. Friends always look out for each other and they can help you through hard times when you need it. An example in the story was when Eliezer finds two kids in the concentration camp named Tibi and Yossi. Tibi and Yossi wanted Eliezer to stay with them during the selection so together they would seem stronger. Later Eliezer’s dad has to participate in another selection to see if he could redeem himself worthy to be able to still work at the camp and live. Eliezer thought he didn’t pass so throughout the rest of the day he was sad and spaced out. But Tibi and Yossi tried to reassure Eliezer that his dad was going to be alright which showed that they did care about Eliezer’s well being like any friend should. A type of bond that’s unbreakable is the one we share with our parents. They taught us how to do many things in life and have comforted us in times of need as well. As in the story Eliezer’s dad didn’t know that his number was written down during the selection until the last minute roll call for the second selection. During that time he tried to reassure Eliezer that everything was going to be okay. He tried to tell him many things that he wanted to tell Eliezer for so long. Eliezer’s dad also gives him a knife for protection and a spoon. This shows that his father cares very deeply about him and wants Eliezer to carry on even without him.

Angelina C. I believe the strongest bonds people have with others is their friends family and religious bonds. an example from night would be when Eliezers dad had to participate in a selection that he did not pass and this broke Eliezer and he thought he had to be without his dad. This made him want to die himself which shows how strong of a bond family has. I dont really believe there is a bond that is unbreakable because friends can betray you families can break apart and people can stop believing in there faith. In Night his bond with his faith is nearly diminished, he doesn't believe that g*d would do such a terrible thing and that if this is happening there can't be a g*d.

People can talk and express their feelings to others which animals cannot do. People are also much smarter than other animals we have an understanding of most things that animals don't and we can learn more complex things than they can. Basic animal instincts that appear in life would be our fight or flight responses because animals do they same thing when they are in danger and our need to keep us safe and defend our selves. Every animal and human want to stay alive and we all have survival instincts. In Night the jews are all fighting for there lives and want to stay alive.

As seen throughout the entire book so far, Eliezer and his father have a very close bond that they depend on each other for survival. Both thinking of if the other is still alive then it's still worth living, Eliezer and his father isn't the only ones who show great care for the other to survive, but also tibi and yossi and eliezer who all thought of if they stayed together that they would have a better chance of surviving the selection. After the selection even though Eliezer mainly thought of himself and how he had passed he cared/wondered of how his father would either pass or not and be sent to the furnace. Eleizers dad did pass the second one though which brought back hope for eliezer. When the russians/red army was coming, Eliezer was only concerned about what he and his father were to do and depended on what his father was to say. Eleizers dad said that they'll only go if Eliezer thinks he'll be able to make the hike. This shows that eliezer dad cares immensely for eliezer and said that if eliezer couldn't make the hike then they won't go at all and take a risk with the russians, who would most likely kill them.

Human beings are much more developed than animals because all of us follow different religions or different beliefs. All of us have different opinions, some may share the same opinion while others disagree. These religions/beliefs help guide our everyday decisions and the way that we live everyday. As stated in the story some of the Jewish community still believes that g*d is real and he’s still out there. Eliezer also states in the story that some Jewish people wanted to still fast or eat most of their rations for Yom Kippur and to show that they still believe in/praise g*d even when situations are bad. But with Eliezer’s opinion he doesn’t believe in g*d anymore. Due to their circumstances and everything they had been through he wonders why g*d would let all of this happen to them. This leads Eliezer to not fast but to conserve his rations as he tells us the readers that it’s his way of rebelling against g*d. This also shows that outside factors can influence decisions/beliefs as well. Some basic animal instincts that are appearing throughout the story are survival of the fittest and alliances. All of the prisoners inside of the concentration camp are fighting for survival. This doesn’t mean that they all are fighting each other but taking anything they can to survive. Like when Eliezer was in the infirmary for his foot. He would take extra pieces of bread to give to his father when he could to help him survive. Also alliances form inside of the concentration camps like Eliezer has with Tibi and Yossi. Not only that but Eliezer is scared of being alone and he tries to stay with his dad most of the time. These animal instincts can also appear in regular life situations as well.

One of the strongest bonds if not the strongest bonds is with either family or faith. Family bonds can be the strongest bonds especially if they are what you depend upon for living with how they keep you going no matter what external or internal force may be put upon oneself. They can keep you from thinking that the external force is not worth fighting and to just giving into it. Eleizer shows this by if his father was to not pass the selection that he would have been very depressed and found life not truly worth living. Faith is another bond that is also strong within those who truly believe in that 🤬 will come and save them. In chapter 5, most if not all of the jews gathered to say a prayer since it was kaddish. They all prayed that 🤬 would save them and protect them from the suffering and that he would help them get through this. Although in chapter 5, eliezer believes in family being the strongest bond because he isn’t following through with fasting that they were supposed to. Eliezer even said that 🤬 isn’t helping anyone and is allowing this to happen to all of his followers, the suffering, the torture, the horrible conditions. Although i would say most bonds can be broken up, i would have to say that having a tight family bond would be the closest thing to being an unbreakable bond.

In the story, Eliezer and her father didn't know if they were going to make it out of the camps alive so they had to hope for the best outcome. It can be good because it gives you something to look or work towards, which keeps you motivated but it can also be bad because when you dont achieve your goal it can bring your confidence down. Religious faith can go with your personal faith but some people can pray others can just feel faith with the situation it kinda depends. Faith was used when Eliezer and his father thought they were gonna leave the camp in the beginning but lost faith now in the story seeing what goes on in the camps. Blind faith could be not knowing whats gonna happen but trying your best to believe what will.

Humans (the Jews specifically) are generally more caring towards one another than concerned with self preservation. All of the Jews are going through relatively the same thing and they all look out for each other and are trying to get through the situation together. For example towards the beginning of Elie's days in the camp, a relative from Antwerp named Stein recognized Elie and his father and came up to them to reconnect and see how they are doing. During the next few times Stein visited he would give some of his bread ration to Elie so that he would be taken care of and not be weak. This shows how much he cared about Elie and his health because he too had to eat but sacrificed some of his food to give to Elie. Also in the story when a French girl in the forced labor unit with Elie, whispered some comforting words to elie because he was in need of them. He then found out that speaking German could of blown her cover because she is Jewish and didn't want to get caught but wanted to support Elie no matter what. She risked her life to help Elie and to comfort him.

Hope is necessary for the survival of of the Jews because without it. they basically give up for surviving the Holocaust and accept their deaths. This is shown with Akiba Drumer in chapter 5, where where he lost all hope and then threw himself into selection to be killed since he felt as if he would never leave the camp. Hope is what is keeping the Jewish people alive in the cmps because they are hoping that they will be free sometime in the future. Hope can be misleading because to much of it can cause a huge let down. Stein from Antwerp became much more hopeful and optimistic when Elie told him that his wife and children were safe. This gave him hope that he could possibly see them one day however this is misleading because Elie lied about Steins family to keep him hopeful. If he knew the truth about his family it would probably crush him and he might have even killed himself. Hope can be misleading because instead of looking at the reality of their situation the Jews relied on their faith. Some things I hope for in life is to graduate highschool and college, I hope to have a family and be comfortable in my living situation.

When trying to survive, a person needs hope. A person who has hope is motivated to survive. If there is no hope then there is no motivation which means there is no surviving.
There a moments where hope can seem hopeless because of bad outcomes. The theme hope is seen in "Night" by the Jews fighting to stay alive and overcome the camps while other Jewish people are dying. One day I hope to fix my favorite bmx bike so I can ride it again.

I believe it is based off of people's boundaries and limitations. In my opinion, I would be able to forgive anyone's mistakes as long as they apologize. The theme of forgiveness is seen by Elie Wiesel trying to understand forgiveness and the power of evil.

Some advice given to them is to run as if the 🤬 is on your heels and don't look at the SS. This is very important for these people to understand because if they don't follow the advice given they could die. Some past advice that have gotten was to hang out with the right crowd of people and my dad would tell me everyday not to mess up and do that and I failed and got stuck with some bad people but then got out of it eventually. I feel like my life would be different becase it would change the type of person that I am today.

People like to show power over others when they have the chance. In this case with the Nazi uprising, the Jewish community and most countries around the world could not prevent the Nazi´s from displaying power over them. Power is shown over people when one feels good about themselves for displaying that they are better than others. Adolf 🤬 was a great example of this. An example of this in the modern world could be censorship in countries like Russia and North Korea. The people know that if they publish a negative post about their leader they have the possibility of facing punishments.

They all can relate to the brutal things that are being done to them, and know that truly there's nothing they can do to prevent death and it is all in the hands of the Germans to decide. They communicate with each other to share feelings, and get whatever they want off their chest. As you can see in the story some share soup with the people that are more hungry then other´s. They work together to overcome the problems they are facing.

Hope is a very important thing in life, and it could even be called a nessessity expecialy in extreme cases such as the one Elie is in. Hope is a driving force that motivates you and without you are left sad, depressed, and lacking encouragement. In the story "Night" in chapter five, Elie explains that a man called Akimba Drummer who was certain that he was going to get picked during the selection and was sure he would end up dieing. He had no hope so he put no effort in trying to look fit and survive so he ended up getting selected and killed. Hope can be very powerful and was what drove Elie to try to pass the selection. However, hope can be very misleading because when one does not acheive what they are hoping about they are left let down. In "Night" many of the other people at the camps including Elie hope that the Russian army will arive at the camps and set them free, but instead they are moved right before the army arrives. Their hope of finally being set free was crushed which could leave many of the people disappointed such as Elie and make them feel like they are trapped in a never ending loop which makes it hard to stay motivated. Some of my biggest hopes in my life and future is to go to college, get married, and have kids.

Yes there is a large difference in religious faith and personal faith. Religious faith is when you rely on one or a few specific beings to take care of you. Personal faith is when the person relies on them and only them. Having blind faith means that you have faith in something or someone with out context behind it. A person can lose faith in something or someone through betrayal, for example in Night our narrator loses faith in his god due to the fact that their god has let hundreds of Jews die and did not stop anyone from killing them.

Faith is a very special beleif and trust in someone or something. There is a very large difference between religous and personal faith and both forms are shown throughout the story. Religous faith is the trust in an above being or god to lookout for you. This type of faith is seen by Elie in "Night" at the camps, he always sees people that still pray and ask god to help them through the rough times they are going through at the camps. On the other hand personal faith is trust in yourself to get you through things which is shown by Elie in the story because as he gets to the camps he starts to rely less on god and more on himself and his desicions. Blind faith is when you compleatly trust someone or something without really knowing them. Blind faith can relate to when Elie and his father first arrived at the camp and some other jewish person there told them what ages to say they were to the officers, they trusted this person and did so which led to them being put together in the same group. Something that could make someone like me lose faith is if you are used or betrayed, such as trusting someone and doing something bet you reciev no benefit from doing that thing only harm.

Hope can be motivating when you hope a bad time will be over so you try your best to survive. Hope is missleading when you hope something good is going to happen, but you end up getting something bad. There is a difference in religious belief and personal belief because personal belief is really dependent upon the degree to which a specific person has faith towards their divine being. In the text Eliezer starts to question "god's" judgement and power. At the same time there are people who have almost completely lost faith in "god" and others who believe that this is trial to test their belief. To have blind faith is to ignore all ideologies which go against the faith which you are supporting and continuous supporting for your faith no matter the reasons, such as the people in the text who believe this genocide is a trial. What would cause me to lose faith is really when nothing positive would occur, only negative things happening in my life with no escape.

Something that I hope for in life is just for when I get older I am able to live a happy and healthy life.

People display power over other people because they want to either make themselves feel better about themselves or make other people feel worse about themselves. The Germans made the Jewish people feel worse about themselves by displaying power over them. It made them feel defeated. Someone can display power over someone else through money. If someone has more money than someone else than they believe they have the misbelief that they are better then that person. This is apparent in the modern world where if someone has more money than their opinion is right which that is just not the case.

What makes humans a more developed species than others is our immensely powerful thought process. This thought process allows us to form mutualistic relationships and therefore developed at a far greater pace than other species. Our thought process also allows us to apply the materials which are around us and turn them into weapons, food or comforts. It really takes a of thought as to how to be successful in a war and running a concentration camp takes a lot of thought as to how to keep the prisoners from rebelling and to get the Jews to the concentration camps without making them suspect a thing. It allows takes a lot of thought for the Jews as to how to survive, using tricks to not be selected in the selection process, for instance appearing stronger. The basic human instinct which appears in humans is foremost the instinct of survival, especially when we feel we are in imminent danger. The Jews especially had this instinct whilst trying to live through the countless days in the concentration camps.

Faith is a strong belief in something. Religious belief and personal belief are two different things because religious belief is what your religion says you should believe in but personal belief is what you actually believe in. What it means to have blind faith is when you have faith in something no matter what. It is really hard for the jewish people to believe in a God when they are in these concentration camps and they feel defeated. Something that would cause me to lose faith would be if someone proved me wrong and showed me evidence of how my faith is wrong. But other than that I probably wouldn't lose faith in something I strongly believe in.
