The impact of the pandemic on K-12 education has served as a national wake-up call exposing the limitations that decades of iterating on "good enough" have imposed on our national educational enterprise. By reviewing the standards that serve to ground students' opportunities to engage in rich, purposeful learning experiences, we are beginning the critical process of re-examining the architecture of the structures for student learning that have been taken for granted for too long.
