Meanwhile, Oberon poured the magic potion into Demetrius's eyes and when he woke up he found Helena. Now both Lysander and Demetrius are in love with Helena, who believes that they are making fun of her. When Hermia arrived with them she couldn’t believe what’s happening, especially when Lysander and Demetrius started fighting for Helena’s love.     It’s located in the United Kingdom, more specifically in the municipality of Southwark, London.

  • When was it built? 
    The original theater was built in 1599, destroyed by fire in 1613, rebuilt in 1614 and demolished in 1644. The theater we see today was built in 1997 and opened the same year.

  • How is the structure of the theatre?
    It was built following the original Elizabethan plans. In this way, it maintains the original structure of the Globe Theater: a circular outdoor courtyard surrounded by three rows of seats on the ground floor and by boxes on the two upper floors. It is the only building in London that still maintains a thatched roof after being banned due to the Great Fire of 1666.

  • What was the kind of audience who attended that theatre?
    The theater had a maximum capacity of 2,500 people but today the number has decreased to 1,500. Only people who could pay the entrance could enter.

  • Where did the audience sit and why?
    The building has three covered levels, but most of the audience remained standing in the central part of the theatre because it was cheaper. For this reason, Shakespeare's Globe only offers theatrical performances during the warmest months of the year.
