This theater was made for the farm workers, to help lift their spirits, and they advocated for them. It shows their struggle in way, but it also helps put peoples minds at ease, when they see a play with them, centered around them, and if it can make them feel better it is worth it. i also like it because it shows how they did have speakers there when they did these plays.

The first successful union in 1962, Cesar C. along with others created farm laborers. With the support of many others awarness was raised to expose the abuse and misuse of farm laborers. This movement insired many Chicana/o artis and political activist. At the top, it shows that it is a Delano Strike benefit so the theater isn’t just taking all of the money for themselves. The big NFWA logo on the top also shows that they want everyone to know about what they’re fighting for and get the word out. I like how they get a nice mix of fun and activism in this event poster because even though it’s a benefit concert for the Delano Strike, people aren’t scared off by a super serious message on the poster. It shows how they are still trying to fight for what they believe in and be able to enjoy the event.

In a way it looks like the bird is drawn in a style of how the Native Americans would draw animals. I also like the moon behind the bird or at least I perceive it as one. From my point of view the men look like "superheroes" off of some sort of comic book. The cover definitely gives "epic" vibes and this is a genre that definitely would be appealing in theatres. Also "La Huelga" stands out on the wing of the bird and it translates to "the strike" which was a part of the message they said. This poster represented a drama for the Delano grape strike. The grape strike was a boycott to help stop the exploitation of Mexican & Fillipino farmers. I feel in a sense the image on the poster gives the grape strike empowerment.

I think that it highlights the point of the theater because it shows the actors in action, performing the art. I think it shows anyone who is looking at the poster what the theater does and the kind of acting that goes on there. I also like that they put the name in both English and Spanish showing that everyone is welcome to come to their theater no matter what language they speak. I like that they put an actual picture because I think when the poster is older and is no longer being used then it can still show people what the theater had always been about and what cause they will continue to support. I think that it also shows that the performances are made about the issues faced by Hispanic people in America and are more targeted to this crowd. I think that it very interesting that this group saw that another group was not going to accept them because of something and decided to make their own group instead, and instead of leaving out people, included everyone who wanted to be a part of their cause. I also think that the theater is a great way to protest peacefully that is fun and interesting. I think that theater is a way that people can more easily see and understand issues facing other people and empathize with them. I think that the signs show that the people in the theater may not have very much money for a very extravagant costume but they still do everything they can to make the show inclusive for everyone. I think it also shows that this cause is real. I can also see the bird that is on the stage is the bird that is on the flag of United Farm Workers showing that the plays cover real issues for the Hispanic community and are addressing them through theater. I can also see that some people in the poster are acting as certain fruits, and I think that this shows that the show has several aspects of comedy that influence it.

To me it shows that during this hard time there can still be good times where you can smile about. The smiling skull can represent farmers who look on the positive side of the situation and are happy about the performances happening. The frowning skull shows that even with people smiling, this is still not the happiest situation and times like this are tough. The frowning skull also looks scared or worried, so it could represent the worry that people are dealing with the effects of has become the outcome of all of this. I also like that the skulls are basically polar opposites but still represent what people and farmers were feeling for most of the occasion. This poster portrays the emotions of everyone, whether that be good or bad. The poster is also viewed vibrantly, so it stands out with the different colors.

The two scenes give two different emotions from the people. The black and white image shows the struggles people went through. The red image shows them being happy and after the fights they had to go through. They look relieved in a way and proud. You can see everyone united in both the images shown. No matter the circumstances, they stay together and they don't give up. The theater was made so farmers can enjoy themselves and have fun. They also had that area to connect with each other and everyone was welcome. The contrast of colors on the images also stood out to me and I thought it was an interesting message the author was trying to tell the viewers.

The first image is in black and white, it shows people doing hard labor in a field with sombreros and tools. In the second image it shows people protesting with flags and other posters. When you first look at it it's kind of hard to see the pictures because they are overlapping, and it just looks like a lot is going on. But when you look at it for a second you can see a lot of meaning behind it. And with the black and white photo in the back and the red one in the front it seems like the one at the back is the backstory/reasoning as to why they are protesting in the front picture.

You can clearly see that this man is just ringing a bell, yet he has a "kick me" sign on his back. It shows how people on the higher social ladder see Mexicans, Latinx people, or just people of color. No matter how respectable the job is they will always see us as just a joke and nothing more. We could have a higher paying job them and they would question if you actually have the job. They would still think they are better than you and if you could afford something expensive or go into a good house they would think you are stealing or breaking in. Or if you just say your Mexican American they will think you crossed the border even though you and your parents have been born here throughout their whole lives. I am Mexican American but all they hear is Mexican.

The Teatro took modern life situations and turned them into entertainment , representing the struggles of being a Mexican, and treated less than. This image represent on the poster shows the successful  development of the spread of knowledge of how it is to be a Mexican in America.

It caught my because the skull on top seemed to be hovering over a plate with a smaller skull in the middle. Even with this there was two skeletons dancing at the bottom. This reminded me of the movie Coco and how all the colors of the alters and skeletons for Dia de Los Muertos. I also like how the skeletons on top is very different than the ones on the bottom. The first thing that caught my eye about this poster was the color itself, though similar in style to most if not all other El teatro campesino posters, this specific poster stood out to me because when researching these posters I didn't find many at all with the same use of color selection and color in itself. The blue being so vibrant all while still looking cool toned is what makes this piece so intriguing to me. When looking more into the details of the piece, I found myself drawn towards the sun and sky even when trying to look more at different parts of the piece. I like this piece because it contains elements or pieces that I have common interests with. For example the sun, I've always loved suns so I think this may have influenced my bias when it came down to the decision making process . I really love the sun and the artistic style it's done in because it reminds me of certain songs and also people. This goes along with the galaxy and shooting star. I also liked the art style Dan Segura used. The way that the hand and the expression of the face were so synchronous just made the piece come together. It shows how n sync the actors are with the emotions of the role they are playing. Their expressions are also n sync with their emotions. The picture shows that the man is worried about something. It looks modern and old at the same time. The colors make it look more modern, but the style of art makes it look older.

Why? Well basically because of its simple yet intriguing design. I really enjoy the play on the skulls- one smiling and one frowning as to exaggerate the emotions. They definitely remind me of the face masks used in a drama club of some sort- which fits 
 absolutely great with its meaning and representation! These posters were meant to exaggerate and energize the political message of the United Farmer Workers of America using song, music, AND DRAMA!!! Also, the red ribbon mixes so very well with the yellow text. The black background allows the white skull wrapped by the red and yellow ribbon to pop and stand out it is the first thing you notice when staring at this poster.
