Losing you was the most difficult thing I have ever experienced but it also gave me courage, strength, and a fight I could have never imagined. Fighting this disease for you has become one of my greatest joys in life because it keeps me close to you. I'll never forget the day you were diagnosed and that dreadful day 38 days later when it killed you. As long as I am alive, you will never be forgotten. I love you the most mama. I was fortunate enough to be able to have distal pancreatectomy, to remove part of my pancreas, my spleen and several cancerous lymph nodes, in Sept 2019. Why was I fortunate? Because so many are diagnosed too late or their tumors are in operable, much of the reason for the low survival rate. 
 The journey was hard and the chemo was really rough but I’m here! I’m here to give HOPE to every patient diagnosed with PC and their caregivers. I walked in PanCAN’s PurpleStride, 2 months after my surgery, and I finished! We can NEVER stop fighting and we can’t do it alone! Statistically I had only a 1%chance of surviving 5 years. Even worse, I was to learn many years later my Surgeon and my Oncologist did not expect me to survive more than one year. I never lost the determination to become a statistical outlier and persevered. PanCan Patient Services played an important role in helping me enroll in a clinical trial for targeted therapy based on precision medicine results. Successful treatment led to becoming cancer free.
