I've seen the one with Parkinson's disease and the on with ADHD on TV before, and not a single thought of them having a disability came to my mind at those times. Whilst people with visible disabilities are more commonly picked on due people being able to see it, it's almost the complete opposite case for those with invisible disabilities- they may feel unnoticed. Both visibly and invisibly disabled people suffer from these different scenarios, but they suffer nevertheless.

Disabilities are not always visible and not always present as how you 'expect' it would be. It is not okay to make assumptions whether if someone have a disability and worse to deny someone's disability by saying something like "but you don't look that way". Each person with a disability could have different experiences and it's not always like the mainstream portrayals. Hence, it is important to listen and learn (if they are willing and comfortable to share) instead of judging and making assumptions.

It shows that many peoples struggles come from the inside and you don't know what someone is going through without learning more about them. Invisible disabilities should be treated the same as visible ones, each are equally valid. With all disabilities you can't understand each persons individual experiences, even 2 people with the same disability may experience it differently, its all about the person themselves and not what labels them. It should be used as a tool to help us understand disability but should not overshadow who they are as a person, their hobbies, who they want to be one day ect. We are all unique and should celebrate each others differences and respect everyone the same.
