Magic school

Magic school allowed me to take a text from wonderopolis and lower the level of the text to second grade then down to first grade level. First grade uses simpler language and familiar high frequency words. I requested that it made the text shorter to be more concise and less overwhelming for you readers. (I ran out of uploads on Padlet so I will attach the screen recording on seesaw)

voice typing was able to detect my voice and punctuation without changing any of the settings in Microsoft word. I was also able to transcribe what I said, and it would write it in a different language. I could see myself using this tool for students to express their ideas that does not require them to have perfect handwriting or spelling because they can orally show what they know.

google translate allowed me to upload an entire document and translate it in second to the language of my choice. This is an amazing tool for multilingual students because I could translate and print group reading in their home language as well as pre made homework packets.

Magic school choice board

This tool amazed me at how quickly it can take a standard and give at least 6 options for students to engage with. The choices for the third grade standard of interacting with the environment were great and there were options that could be done in school and outside of school as a homework project. The choices encouraged collaboration, and I think students would be excited to complete the assignment of their choice. Providing choice gives students a leadership role in the classroom and a greater level of responsibility.

I used a visual arts standard and asked for recourses and chatgpt was able to provide websites, simulations, games, visual aids, and classroom activities to go along with the standard. Links were easy to access through chatgpt. 50% of the websites were from art/education organizations which was encouraging to see but I think there could be a bit more variety from the rest of the websites that were .com.
