         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Objective</strong>: Use ISTE standards to guide teachers through bridging their in-person teaching tools to digital teaching tools.<br><strong>Why</strong>: Analysis of the student survey results with student needs:<br>"Having to teach myself, understand the lesson then complete the homework all in one day while having other classes to work on."<br>"The hardest challenge for me was learning math since my teacher only put up pictures of the lesson, he never explained any of the lesson. We had to basically teacher ourselves."<br>"It wasn't the same as having the student to teacher conversation to understand the lesson."<br>"It was honestly very discouraging to complete my work at times. It felt as if teachers just gave out any random assignment they could find. I understand nobody was prepared for this to occur. There was no plan. I just didn’t see the point in doing some assignments that were unrelated to the course or assignments that we simply learn nothing from."<br><strong>Steps:</strong><br>1. Review the available resources: ISTE Standards, Sample videos from Future Ready, - reflect on Schoology Course (15 min.)<br>2. Connect to your current syllabus, lessons, instruction (5 min.) <br>3. Rodriguez and Leal model ISTE Standards incorporation - (how did you incorporate it, what challenges did you face, outcomes) (10 min)<br>4. Identify areas where you can incorporate these standards into your current syllabus and instruction. <br>5. Reflect and Plan for using these standards for the Fall: What additional steps will you need to level up your current syllabus for the digital teaching world? (Responses in the Schoology Course) (15 min)</div>]]></description>
