People with social phobia have similar level of anxiety with people who are shy.          <description><![CDATA[<div>There are several ways to treat or over come shyness and those ways are to talk to someone such as a mental health specialist, get some form of medicine, to go to a support group, or psychotherapy. Some types medications that could be given to people who have this disorder would be anti anxiety meds, antidepressants, and beta blockers. The type of psychotherapy they use would be a cognitive behavioral therapy that will help by teaching you different ways of thinking, and different ways of how to live with social anxiety.          <description><![CDATA[<div>The types of therapy are Cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, psychodynamic therapy, family therapy.<br><br>By going to therapy to treat social anxiety on average the person will need at least 3 months of therapy depending on the severity. The goal for therapy is to gain trust, learn skills to deal with the circumstances that scare the patient the most.
