1. Frequency division multiplexing(FDM) is an analog signal.

2. Frequency Division Multiplexing (FDM) works by transmitting all of the signals along the same high speed link simultaneously with each signal set at a different frequency.

3.The demultiplexor at the receiving end works by dividing the signals by tuning into the appropriate frequency(by using filter).
4. FDM gives a total bandwidth greater than the combined bandwidth of the signals to be transmitted. This is because to make FDM works properly overlap must be avoided. To avoid frequency overlap there are guard bands that separate the bandwidth from overlap.

1. A large number of signals (channels) can be transmitted simultaneously.
2. FDM does not need synchronization between its transmitter and receiver for proper operation.

3. Demodulation of FDM is easy.

4. Due to slow narrow band fading only a single channel gets affected.
