For instance, after the severe Haitian earthquake in 2010, the U.S. provided food, water, sanitation services, rescue services, and emergency shelter. To know that so many women and children are in another nation, starving to death and we don't care would be intolerable. It would make us cold-hearted  people to allow that to happen.
